holy crap, canadians are badass. was there any reason behind this?
...woah
Wow, talk about spin.
The Governor General went up to Northern Canada, in Inuit area. Up that far north and in that area, there is very little in terms of livestock. While on the west coast there is some very controversial seal slaughter as sport, the Inuits eat seal meat to survive and follow very traditional and ceremonial practices in consuming the meat.
The Governor General merely participated in the tradition and ceremony of Inuit country, partaking in their culture and eating the food provided, which is some of the only available that far north. If she hadn't, she would of been criticized as being intolerant and insulting to Inuit culture.
This is nothing but media spin.
Fair enough.
I just thought I should tell you all, is all.
yeah thats what I thought. I only skimmed the article, and I don't know much about the inuit culture... the only thing I was worried about was the fact she ate what should be protected. I believe autralia has a similar allowance for aborigines and sea turtles, but i wouldn't imagine any politicians here doing that... pretty odd
