      Cheap zoot suits

      Does anyone have any suggestions on where I might be able to find some decently priced second hand zoot suits...that aren't costumes?

      I'd go with eBay, but I'm not sure what difference there are between mens' measurements and women's (yes, I am a woman looking for a man's suit ). I've been advised to check out bridal and tuxedo rental stores since, apparently, some of them carry zoot suits with the option to buy or rent.

      Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm not looking for a genuine vintage suit...a reproduction is fine. It's the style I'm looking for.

      A costume will likely fall apart and look like a costume. I want something I could actually wear on days besides October 31st. I clean up pretty nicely in mens' suits and I have just always wanted a zoot suit...and it would mean I have something "nice" to wear when I get dragged out to dinner by my mother and her idiot/boyfriend.

      I may just start saving up so I can get a new one. Hmm...graduation is approaching and I'm getting family members asking me what I want as a graduation gift...maybe I can ask for small monetary contributions to the Orphic Zoot Suit Fund.

      just get a normal suit. Zoot suits look foolish and overdone, that's why they went outta style 60 years ago.

      Yes, but I don't want a normal suit. I want a zoot suit specifically for the look of the high-waist pants and the long coat. And I don't think they've gone too far out of style since I am now learning tuxedo rental stores sometimes carry zoot suits.

      I didn't say *all* zoot suits are stylin'...just like how not all suits in general are nice. Personally, I wouldn't want a yellow plaid zoot suit. I'd want one that looked like this (or a solid black one with thick white pinstripes):
