I drink tea most mornings, but during summer I don't really do it as much because I have time to eat.

I drink about a tea a day, but it's not coffee...

I sometimes make turkish coffee at home. It's delicious, though I do sweeten it a bit.

That's actually the idea of espresso, to produce a coffee that tastes as good as the smell, but translate it to the States and everyone gets the idea it's "like a shot" and treats it like Jack Daniels but for staying awake

I guess I feel similarly about drinking alcohol as you do about drinking decaf coffee lol
I think beer is some of the most foul stuff on the planet... wine smells too "alcoholic" and the other stuff?- well I never cared much for swallowing fire Wine coolers are even a bit much for me lol (so when I buy them I tend to have 1/2 when I wake up and 1/2 before going to bed).
Some people just like the flavor of certain things that others can't tolerate (blec- like liver pate *barf*). It doesn't matter (or matters little) if they get an extra kick out of it or not.

Over the years, I finally discovered that tea and coffee are "okay". I just like my coffee iced and flavored and my tea hot and with milk

Most mass market American coffee is stale. Even when it's fresh out of the can, it's still stale.

QFT. Why does the most heavily advertised stuff always taste shitty?

is it just me, or does anyone feel like decaffinated coffee is...pointless? sometimes I'd like a cup when it's late, but I don't want to be up all night, but I just can't bring myself to drink decaf because I feel like coffee is...so...pointless...without caffiene.
It takes all of the fun out of it, doesn't it?

if I remember correctly (I was a barista for about a year altogether), espresso actually has less caffiene than a regular cup of (sans cream) coffee. (unless it happens to be a very dark roast, I think?) all the straight espresso I've tried...was good, but I wouldn't say it tasted like it smelled at all...just like strong coffee. I'd love to go to Italy and try "real" espresso o_o (also I hate it when people call it "expresso". ugh.)

probably. I'm not exactly a connoisseur, though I probably know a little more about coffee than the average person...it's been awhile since I've had fresh, freshly ground coffee...so at least right now Maxwell House tastes fine to me, I can't tell the difference, accustomed to it I guess.

because they spent all their money on the advertising instead of actually improving the quality of the product! (duh :p)

and what is "QFT"? god you guys and your fucking acronyms, I swear there's a new one EVERY DAY.

Espresso can have less caffeine because it's generally a very dark roast. The lighter the roast, the less the oils are removed and the less caffeine is lost. I usually don't drink coffee just for the caffeine intake, so I enjoy the aroma and flavor of a darker roast. I'd love to learn to roast my own beans and open up a killer coffee/tea shop.

Like some things, most people have to make themselves like coffee. On its own, if you think about it, coffee doesn't have a very appealing flavor. Like beer, wine, etc. it becomes an acquired taste and I've long passed the point where I love coffee. I started out with quite a bit of cream and sugar, but eventually started drinking it black (I think more to appear grown-up than anything else). The "expresso" gets to me, too.

...And it took me a while to figure out "QFT." Don't feel left out.

Lately I've been drinking 3 cans of soda and 2 cups of coffee a day. oh, and a cup of tea, but it's sometimes decaffe.

i used to have at least 10 cups of nice dark black coffee a day. it helped me focus and i loved the taste of it yummmm. I also drank maybe 5-10 cans of diet coke a week. Then i went to the doctor and found out the reason it helped me focus, was because i had ADD, and stimulants help people with ADD focus better. So he put me on some ADD medication that was a stimulant, and i no longer had the desire to drink that much coffee a day. Maybe like 2-5 cups. And diet coke is just for the taste now. For some reason i like the taste of diet drinks better than regular ones. weird

I never was a fan of coffee really, neither taste or effect was appealing. When
I had a job in.. 2006 I think I started to drink very regularly for about 2 months
because everyone was just drinking coffee there - I realized that it didn't help
me be more energetic, the the contrary, I felt more exhausted. This in addition
to not actually liking it caused me to not drink it anymore, so over the course
of this entire year (09), I maybe had one coffee.. because I was invited or something.

As for Sodas, I sometimes drink them, sometimes I have a phase were it is
more regularly, but I'm much more drawn to juices, water and tea, tbh.
So not a caffeine junky at all.

      I..

have a cup in the morning if I'm real tired. I try to stay away from it though, gives me the jitters and makes me urinate a lot.

I rarely drink it. But when I do, it's purely for the taste (I like iced coffee). Cause I've tried drinking it when I'm tired/sleepy, dun help me at all lol.

Amazing how so much can change so quickly.

I now LOVE coffee. I feel in love with McDonalds McCafe's but $3.00 a pop was a bit much. So I bought myself my own coffee maker, some Hazelnut flavored brewing coffee, hazlenut creamer and I'm one happy camper.
      But I've noticed something "strange".

When I was taking my anti-anxiety meds (Celexa and Strattera) my first large coffee of the day would make me jittery which I understand. Now that I'm taking a break from my meds, caffeine put me to sleep. What the heck?
I know this is TMI, but it also gives me diarrhea with or without meds.

How/why the heck does caffeine make me more sleepy?

I have it about once a week, a soda. Not too much.

I also don't get hyped on it unlike some people.
