My dad is thinking about getting into this but I really don't think it's a good idea. These things are never good to get into but my dad thinks this is different.

Supposedly you don't need to pay money to register and Tom Anderson aka Myspace man helped start it. I am pretty sketchy on this myself as you have to enter your SS# .
Here is how it's supposed to work.
You sign up from someone that sent it to you. You buy things at whole sale and the person that sent you the invite gets some cash. The profits also go to a good cause such as helping to end World Hunger.
What are your thoughts on this? Keep in mind I am in no way promoting this as I think it's a terrible idea.

Heh, I've seen some other things like this. Silent Profit Machine is one. Mostly they're just a clever way to get your email. This one seems better put together than most, but as it asks for your SS# I think it should probably be avoided. There's a minuscule chance this could be legitimate, I suppose, but IMHO it's not worth the risk.
