      Clean Energy

Investing in alternate sources of energy is the in-thing today. It has become a wise option to invest in green energy. The alternate sources of energy are quite safe for the environment. The demand for energy is so high that it is impossible to neglect the blessings of renewable energy sources. It has become increasingly tough to fulfill the energy demands from fossil fuels only.

Among the renewable sources of energy, wind energy is highly desirable. Wind energy is the transformation of the kinetic energy of the wind into electricity. This transformation is made possible through wind turbines. The wind turbines are three blade and two blade types. The blowing wind, caused by the different soil temperatures, flows inside the blades of the turbine which is connected to a shaft that turns a generator. This creates electricity.

Unlike fossil fuels, Wind energy does not cause any air, water or land pollution. Wind energy technologies have advances over the years and there has been a growth in the wind turbine investments in recent years. The latest technology is the vertical axis wind turbines that are pointed towards the direction of the wind. These types of turbines help in generating the cleanest energy.

AEP wants to put a bunch of wind turbines on our ground. It's right next to a gigantic transmission line that hooks into the whole Northeast section of the United States. And one of our biggest fields is right in the windiest spot in the whole project.

The contractors that they hire out say that they're farmer friendly. I don't think so. Putting one of those 350' whirligigs up requires putting in an enormous concrete pad (Over 40 feet deep.) They have a tonnage figure just for rebar. That thing is gonna cut a shitload of my tile. People just don't understand what tile does for ground in this area. Fields go underwater if the tile gets cut.

This says nothing about the severe soil compaction that the construction equipment makes. They have a crane just to build the crane that will put the turbine up. The equipment is so heavy that it pulverizes the road it travels on. They also have to be set back 400 ft from the road. That means that there is going to be a big chunk of ground in the form of an access lane that I can't farm on. And no matter what anybody says, there is no way to fix soil compaction.

So, before you start thinking that wind power is the way of the future, think of what they do to the ground they're on. They leave a bigger scar than just the turbine.
