Oh, and by the way...it's BITCH :madtongue:
I hate when people argue over petty things...
Anyway, I think my biggest peeve is when good computers go bad.
take it easy sitboy.. no need to get all angry, she was just kindly contributing..
Mrs. Bitch, my pre-calc teacher, one day was standing at the chalk board waiting for a particular answer to a particular part of a problem. Nobody was going to say anything. Not like I'm going to help fuel her lecture, either. She proceeds to run her entire five fingers of her left hand down the chalk board, twice.
Oh. My. God.
It's as if the inside of my mind was a hollow sphere of mirrors with that sound continually echoing around for the next 20 minutes. Torture.
And I guess another pet peeve of mine would be the collection of dumbasses in Chemistry class. And the teacher herself, sadly. I really feel disappointed by the entire education system. It's as if the teachers have just given up trying to teach the correct methods and explanations and have resorted to various "tricks" with numerous exceptions to get the students to pass their class.
Teacher : " Why do elements want to have similar electron configurations? "
Dumbass_14 : " Because they want to be happy like the noble gasses with ... uh.. um.. "
Teacher : " -- Yep, that's exactly right. The elements want to fill their highest energy levels to be like the noble gasses. "
:shakehead2:
And jesus, who the fuck pronounces "electroneutrality" as "electron-neutrality"?? Take a look at the fucking root of the word, dumbass.
Also, a student proposed that magnetism was responsible for the binding force that holds two atoms together. :(
ooook lets just be totally inflexible with this "chemistry" "knowledge" they teach us. Jesus, and the people could never even fucking piece together any of it to get "the big picture" or derive other concepts from known stuff. That's how crappy it is.
Teacher : "Casey, your question... : How does an anion get its negative charge?"
"I don't know."
..You don't know. Please die.
Woooowww man. Attitude much? Obviously it was a joke. You know what a joke is, right? Did you miss that whole wink thing? Chill out. Besides...YOU ASKED!!Quote:

/me scratches my nails across some styrofoam
take that. ha!
The numerous ideas (usually politically correct) society indoctrines into our minds at an early age, and by the time you realize this fact, it becomes very difficult to change.
hmm something that is annoying is when anything that you want is harder to get, and something that you don't is easier
edit: having a hard on at work or around people sux, especially when it won't go away, yeh that sux
Chill it, i dont care if it was a joke or not, i failed to notice it before i read the underneath posts, so nina, just try and make it more obvious that its a joke otherwise you end up slightly humiliating people when they take it the wrong way.Quote:

Meh, anyway my pet peeve is when people run their fingernails across paper, when my hands are cold. Also when i get out of the bath or just wash my hands, i cannot touch paper for 20 minutes because freshly dried hands on paper is just....disgusting. Nothing wrong with it, it just feels GODAWFUL and when other people rub their fingers across paper when ive just dried my hands, i have to leave the room.
Thats something quite unique to me, and its damn annoying.
My pet peeves?....Hmm...
1. Horrible renditions of well-known songs. I mean, who plays Holst's "Mars" in 4! It's friggin in 5! .... sorry, marching band thing.
2. Um, people who are "know" they are, without a doubt, the absolute best at something when they suck. (ie. tone deaf ppl, ppl who say they "know" martial arts after only a couple weeks of class, tone deaf ppl, etc.)
3. People who think all Christians are closed-minded and have to share that.... and if you reply to that one, I will hurt you. It's just my opinion.
4. People who can't judge when a "joke" has been taken too far or don't know how to express that they're being sarcastic rather than serious.
I have others, but I just can't think of them right now. Now don't misunderstand me on some of those. I like just about everyone, but little things tend to irk me. Maybe I'll edit this post later if I come up with more....
-Amé
-hair or dust in food
-dead bugs, but not living ones (no idea why)
-wastefulness
-car alarms going off at 2:00 AM
-homeless people in the subway, especially asking for money.
-ect. ect. ect...
I'm sorry. It is sometimes hard for me to tell sarcasam on a computer. I admit that I took it too far. I am sorry and please stop bashing me in your pet peeves. It seemed like you were being sereous but I am sorry.
Oops. Didn't think about that. I wasn't trying to offend anyone. It's against my policy. :D Just a generalization.
-Amé
It's cool. I guess sarcasm can be something that is hard to convey over the internet. But you might want to think twice before calling people a \"bitch\", I was just messin around but you weren't.Quote:

More obvious? I winked. What are you blind. You need to chill. Meh. I'm over it.Quote:

Or how about a train blasting its horn between midnight and 4am? There's train-tracks that go right through town, and even with the windows closed, I can still hear it loud and clear. Drives me insane when I'm trying to get at least five hours of sleep before an earlier class. :makeitstop:Quote:

Believe me, ask anyone - like Gezus --, I've taken things too much to heart on this board before. But it looks like things have settled down, so just take a deep breath and learn from the mistake, and move on. I'm sure you'll handle things even more smoothly next time.Quote:

Sarcasm in latin is "to tear at the flesh"

Imma stay out of it.
Anyways, to make this post legit, my pet peeves are:
The term "pet peeves"
Conformist punk rock
I really can't think of anything else.
unnecessary fighting/arguing...well thats one of them...
sarcasm rocks
like if i say go die in hell ;)
its sarcasm
come here and sit on me special person, you know who you are
that isnt sarcasm, hehe
That bother's you? I lived near train-tracks for 10 years and it only bothered me the first week or so. Then I tuned it out and didn't hear it unless I was awake and happened to focus on it :D But maybe that's just me.Quote:

I also used to live near a train And when ever I would go to sleep it would make a sound, but after a while it was relaxing. It helped put me to sleep. I also hate when people don't wear coats when it is the dead of winter because they try to look cool. Whats cool about shivering and catching the flu. i also hate Deoderent in a can. Using a stick is just as good, isn't cold and dosn't destroy MY OZONE. I also hate suck-ups. I also dont like when people think that county music music is just for red necks. I like some female county artist.I also hate when Suburan kids act like LIFE is SO BAD. I also hate when people use words with out knowing there real meaning like SACNDALIS. The word dose not mean un-fair like people at my school think. people who talk on there cell phone while they dirve. I also hate my little brother bot that is not realing a pet peeve.
I'm with you on that one.Quote:

Can we dump all those kids in the most poverty stricken country ever for a few weeks, then take them back to their houses so they'll all be like "WOW THIS IS AMAZING! RUNNING WATER OMG WHY DON'T I THINK HOW LUCKY I AM TO HAVE ALL THIS STUFF!"
Oh man where to start.......
1. People who use words incorrectly (the prime offending words being "ironic" "momentarily" and "profound")
2. Hypocrisy, I was talking to this raging feminist in class one day and she presented me with a table of rape statistics and said it was proof of a massive male effort to degrade women, here's the actual conversation that followed:
Me: Hey, did you know that every year millions of crimes are commited by black people against white people? I think that is proof of a massive black movement to terrrorize whites.
Moron: Oh my God that's so racist!
Me: You're right, it is. Do you know why?
Moron: Beacause you can't judge a whole group by crimes commited by a few of them!
Me (shoving her rape statistics back into her hands): Exactly, think about it.
(Other students laugh)
OWNED! Oh yeah, that was one of my greatest moments!
3. Half-assed suicide attempts. Face it, you did it just so you could talk about your suicide attempts. Maybe people would have cared 40 years ago but now the taboo is off and everyone and his brother has a suicide attempt story. Hell, even I have one, but at least mine is funny.
4. People who sing songs and gets the words horribly wrong. Bonus points if you correct them and they refuse to admit they're wrong until you actually look up the lyrics:
Me: The line is "everybody in the club get tipsy"
Dude: No dude it's "everybody in the club get tense"
Me: The name of the song is "tipsy" the word "tipsy" appears written on everything in the video.
Dude: No way it's "tense"
Me: Do you want me to look it up?
Dude: Whatever, it's a shitty song anyway.
Me: Yeah.
Theres a few milion more, but this is already a huge post. So I'll stop.
I just remembered my BIGGEST pet peeve...when people say IRREGARDLESS. OMFG. That is soooooo not a word. It's regardless. My teacher uses it incorrectly on a daily basis, it used to be funny. Now I can't stand her but I'd feel like an ass correcting her.
