Right so, I went with my dad and his friend to my grandma's house to have some hamburgers and hotdogs. They were really good.
My dad's friend pointed out that there were these 3 spiders against the house (we were eating outside). I wasn't too freaked out because I was quite a ways away from them. She said they were called Garden Spiders.
Didn't really care to know that. Well, what freaked me out is that she went right up to them and started poking their webs. I was like "OMFG WTF ARE YOU DOING?!" She said that when she was little she would throw grasshoppers at them and watch the spiders spin them in their webs. Then my dad and grandpa were like "Yeah I used to do taht all the time!" and again, I was like "WTF THATS MESSED UP!"
She said that sometimes if you touch their webs or whatever they'll vibrate so fast that you can barely see them. Again, I didn't care or want to know this. Everyone also happened to point out that there were 2 spider sacks on the side of the house next to the 3 spiders.
After awhile they decided to catch a couple of grasshoppers and put them in the spider webs. I can't believe how close they were getting to them. They said that they don't harm humans, but still, a spider is a spider to me and they're all freaking creatures...
So they caught a few and told me to come look at what they do to them. I was like "No, I'm good right here." But they kept insisting, so I got up and stood back a ways away from everyone (I'm not getting anywhere near those things...) and so they put a couple in their webs and I had to watch as they sped toward them and spun them in their webs.
Now, my dad knows that I have a terrible fear of spiders, but he kept asking me if I wanted to catch a grasshopper with him. He was only joking of course.
But really, talk about scarring of the mind.
Also, NO PICTURES! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT POST ANY PICTURES! I WILL HAVE THEM REMOVED!
If you MUST post a picture of a spider, then put it in a spoiler tag.
