The Journey
I am planning a journey for next year... traveling the world! I decided to come here and ask for your guys' ideas. I'm planning on staying in hostels - cheap, and great places to meet people. I'm planning on doing a lot of writing there as well. I want to spend quite a bit of my days exploring and observing new scenarios, new people, and get inspiration. I really don't want to do touristy things to tell you the truth.. maybe a few, but I'd like to spend my time actually living in those places, getting a feel for what they're REALLY like.
At first I was thinking of getting jobs in each location I visit, and keep the money I saved beforehand as backup for if I really need it... that would be an adventure. But then I realized that I don't want to spend all my time working and decided to just work the odd day job here and there for fun if I wanted to - just something spontaneous. I'm going to leave a lot of what I do up to spontaneity (:D) but I thought maybe you guys could help with some ideas of adventures I could have! Post anything, no matter how wild it is. Though at the same time, I would appreciate serious posts quite a bit as well.
Also, I haven't yet decided where I'm going to go! I want to go all over the place. I've been to europe twice, I don't want to exclude it as a possible destination. So... any neat places will do. I've been thinking of Russia, Australia, Nepal, India, places in South America, Egypt.. So yeah, ANYWHERE! If you've been travelling and have great suggestions, or if you've been wanting to go someplace, share!
Destinations, Adventures.... POST!
Cheers,
Dylan

COOL! You should definately go to Russia! I might get to go there this summer, but we'll see what happens. There's so much there! Also, you can visit Kiev in Poland. Did you know it was the first Russian capital? However, I'd personally recommend not trying to speak the language unless you know it. Those "travel guides" are kind of a joke, at least in my opinion.... I'm a Russian major, so I'm kind of biased.

wow that sounds awesome. the only ive countries ive visited (so far...) are Japan, Holland, and Belgium. There's really nothing in Belgium except diamonds (unless you're a theif.....), Amsterdam is pretty... ummmm... different  , and Japan is the best place ever. everyone is extremely polite and they are soo eager to learn English, so if you go to the countryside- where they've probably never seen a caucasion :P - they'll stare at you and stalk you like you're a movie star, and theyll want to take a picture with you too, lol, i always felt so superior :D
well wherever you go just make sure you have fun!! keep a journal and a dream journal too!

No, there are no other countries. They do not exist. The motherland is one and all. Visit Russia.

you know that is something I'll like to do and been thinking of. If only I had the money, I'd move far away and start all over again.
