Honestly reading the articles and listening to the ads you would think this is a parody. However the tells of a parody are usually on the surface, and there is no surface parody here that I can see. Plus they paid money to advertise.

A bill to allow same-sex marriage in Maine was signed into law on May 6, 2009, and now question 1 wants to veto it.

Oh, and check out the wording of the bill.

"Do you want to reject the new law that lets same-sex couples marry and allows individuals and religious groups to refuse to perform these marriages?"

Yeah, cause that isn't confusing as fucking hell. People who are in support of gay marriage that don't read this carefully are going to end up accidentally saying "yes" when they mean "no."
