The thing about remembering people is also true for me. I wouldn't want to take advise from someone with under 50-100 posts as well. Being a staff member and having some stars avoids this all together.
I remember EVERYONE by there avatar, Jefff, C911, and Ninja are examples of the people I notice the most (obviously.)
I always read the post and then look at the avatar to see who posted, not there name.
I do that on other forums, but on this forum they're far too unreliable for that. They keep changing.
Yeah i just hate it when people dont have an avavtar
This is why I don't change my avatar. Exactly.
I feel the same way as you all said, I don't remember a member if they are avatar-less. I usually don't even try to remember people without an avatar. I need an image to associate them with! I didn't get my avatar until like a few weeks into september (I was gone a while, came back on here about the beginning of september). I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I came up with this. I wanted it to kinda reflect my personality, I wanted to choose carefully, so I wadded through a bunch of pictures to find this one, I never felt like it before, and wasn't quite ready.
I'm glad that I have an avatar now, it seems rather me. So is my sig, it's so colorful. I love color, bright colors! I love to wear bright colors, it makes me stick out in the crowd. Also, I have an orange username (from completing the TOTM) so that also makes me stick out, not that many members have it, I think that that also helps make me memorable.
If you don't have an avatar it's kind of like you aren't even a person at all.
people without avatars are the home-less of the forum.
I'ts like... lacking a face!

like mouthless, assless worms really.
"I have Transcended above mere symbols such as avatars"
Au contraire,
Avatars
it's a great idea.
If you don't have an avatar, to me, you really don't have much of a personality. It's understandable if you just joined, but after 5 posts, get a damn avatar.
