anyone know anything about the software GIMP?
I have a picture that I want to color. Not just color, but shade the entire picture a certain color. Not a picture it's actually a drawing.
Any help greatly appreciated.

GIMP is pretty easy to use.
I'm a newb and I can make decent(ish) edits.
GIMP is the poor man's Photoshop. It's not quite as good as CS4, but it's pretty damn powerful and easy to use.
GIMP is a lot slower though, can't use anyhing else while using it. It's also a bit confusing if you're used to photoshop.
I use gimp and it hardly has any problem for me. It occasionally crashes if i have too much stuff running but that is rare.
I have gimp installed, but I use Photoscape (utter shovelware, btw), mostly because it's good at what I do the most, namely resizing pictures.
Also, if necessary, I think older versions of photoshop can be downloaded for free nowadays. I have version 5.5, which I ripped off from my work computer. It's not the greatest, but it gets the job done just fine.
Hell yes it is.
I use GIMP often. It is pretty slow, that's true for me. So, I try to have nothing running in the background. I can have one or two windows up without it being very noticeably slow.
It's easy to use, there are a shitload of tutorials for it (because almost any poor bastard that doesn't want to steal Photoshop uses it.) It's got an easy learning curve, too.
It's slow on Windows because it's a native Linux app that has been ported to Windows (as well as the GTK GUI toolkit)
