27 *sigh*
22. Until Sunday. On Sunday, I turn 23. :)
I'm 16- seems quite an average age here :D .
Now I'm sad. Going by averages, I'd be considered elderly at 27, almost 28 years old :o :o :o
Almost half the users are 15-18?? Wow, by the time their in their 20s, you guys ought to be realllllly good at lucid dreaming!
~SilverWolf~
Well this thread started in 2009. The average age may have changed by now. Perhaps the poll needs to be cleared and started over. I'm almost 24 and will count myself in a different age group but I can't vote again.
And most of the people who come here leave pretty quickly. They're obsessed in LDing for a few days or weeks and then forget it. If those people tended to be teenagers (not saying they are), then you'd have a huge piling on of '15-18' while barely any of them should actually be counted. That may not be true but, I'm just saying, this poll is a little out of date and shouldn't be taken too seriously, maybe as a very rough approximation with a lot of room for error.
Yeah, that's true. I'm 16 and always when I tell my friends about lucid dreaming they start getting obsessed in LD but after a few weeks they lose their motivation (this is kinda sad btw.) .
I have to say, I have not been active in this community for quite a while too, though I am registered since 2011 - but that was not because I lost my interest in lucid dreaming but because I spent very little time on the internet and was inactive in every community or social network I am registered.
Now I came back to the community because I felt the need to have some conversations and discussions about lucid dreaming (or dreams in general) since my friends aren't obsessed in lucid dreaming the way I am haha. :)
I am 16 ;)
It would be interesting if the poll would show on which date each vote came in. I know that my vote would have to be moved in order to be correct, as I was 16-17 when I voted and now I'm 20.
I'm 14 and don't plan on quitting any time soon ;) I'm in it for the long haul!
A week and three days, and I'm fucking 18.. Feels like the force of time continuously accelerates as it progresses on.
Attachment 5731
It's birthday time!!! :)
Attachment 5743 80 % under 24!!
Wow - well - I´m an old woman, you know - 39 years to be precise ..Attachment 5744
Edit: Okay I saw the comments on up-to-dateness and quite a lot of people coming in for short whiles only..
Feeling a tiny little bit more up to date now...Attachment 5746
20, will be 21 in July. Even if I look like like I'm 12. :cooler:
I turn 28 in about 7 months.
15
23 in a few days. It seems like time is going faster and faster every year...For me, it doesn't even feel like it should almost be 2014, and yet here we are.
Turning 14 in a couple of weeks. Boy oh boy, do I feel young around here.
16.Average, huh.
2891 hours till I'm 16 :D
I'm 22 :)
19-23, all old and creaky :)
Bunch of little whippersnappers!
17
I personally didn't really expect to be so average on the age scale, just a few months till I turn 18 :D
Don't know if I said this before or if someone else did, but this thread is almost 5 years old, which throws off the poll huh. Of course, members come and go, so the member base may always be mostly 15-18 anyway so nvm
I'll be 26 next month.
Quite a lot of young members. I am 19 years old, so I guess I am young too hehe. I'll be 20 in a little less than 2 months.
Do all you young whippersnappers know how *lucky* you are to have found lucid dreaming at/before 20? Ah, to have found it 20 years ago or more... Then again I might have turned out to be a hermit locked in a darkened soundproofed room chugging melatonin like tic tacs :).
. . . I had no idea this was children's forum. I'm 48 o.O
Nah, this is a forum for all ages. But most of the members are young-ish. ...I can't remember if I posted on this thread or not, but I'm 18 haha.
Some of the stuff isnt really all ages, and ophelia knows my age. :)
:wtf:
...
It's very interesting that most of the people are in the ages where puberty starts or has been going for a few years until about 25, in my opinion the most youthful time of a person's life. You would think that people who aren't so young anymore would be the ones to seek excitement during their night time.
This poll is so old I've graduated to the next category
I do however, wish that I had had access to forums such as this that I could learn from and further the craft with a younger, more pliable mind . . .
Whoa! Turns out I'm in the overwhelmingly most prevalent demographic. Although I was 14 just a few months ago... (Good times. Before I got real old.)
I will be 28 in July.
what the?? i am 13, LOL.
17 here. I feel like I'm still 16 though. The year passed by too quickly...
18.
Yes but here we are. I'm only a tad older than you, in active LD training for 1 year now, and I'm seeing steady improvement including now multiple LDs/night on occasion. LDing is something we all can do at any age! It takes dedication and determination, and steady effort over time, something the smart-phone-addicted "instant gratification" generation is not so good at. C'mon, let's show the whippersnappers who's boss!
personally i'm OVER 9000!!!!!:laughtillhurts:
when i posted something here the last time i was 15.. now im 17.
I joined when i was 14.. i keep comming back here is this`my home on the internet or something?
Maybe this thread should have been "How old were you when you joined DV?"
Ancient as the cosmos
After being on this forum for some time now, I've found out that most of you guys are actually grown-ups, which really surprised me for some reason (probably because I'm used to be in forums with people at my own age). So, I'm writing this post to find out how old people are on this forum. I'm turning 16 in about a month, what about you guys?
Hey HansiElneff
There's actually a pretty popular thread for members to post their age, it has a poll too: http://www.dreamviews.com/lounge/872...thread-27.html
By the way, I love your avatar, so pretty (*o*)
Ah okay, thanks for the link and the compliment on my avatar ^^
Yeah, well that thread is from 2009. I was 16 when I voted in that thread but now I'm two weeks away from 22.

@ hansiElneff
your post is now merged into this thread
I think we should create a new official age thread and start the poll over. Since I voted, I've moved one tier down so my vote should really be in 19-23. Hell, I'm even halfway through to the next tier again. Besides, it just feels weird that the first many many pages are full of members who either left or were banned. This thread isn't active. People just keep digging in the grave.
Yaaaay mom, I finally made the top 2%!!!
So over the years, DV attracts more 15-18 year-olds. That, or 15-18 year olds vote more. I'm not even sure how to interpret the stats in here anymore.
At some point we should probably just make another age thread, since all this one is good for now is catching the occasional underage member who admits their age :chuckle:
Theoretically, every day someone crosses over to next age group. So an ongoing age poll doesn't make much sense, since data is fluid.
What would make sense is a poll reflecting age at time of joining DV. Maybe age when you got your first LD, how long from first LD to registering on DV, how long did someone lurk before registering...
Then everybody can just post his current age. Even if that changes, we have a time stamp on the post so can deduct current age as time goes.
28.
I'm 22.
Jesus, I'm 20 now.. I joined this site 5 years ago!!
32, I'm too old for this shit.
Still 23, my favourite number.
Recently turned 21, which means I have no restrictions in the US :rolllaugh: the age for everything in Australia is 18. Going back to the states soon so yaaayyyy
After seeing this thread, apparently too old to be hanging around here......time for me to hit the road.
"The older the violin, the sweeter the music!" There are some of us way off towards the right of that admittedly highly-young-skewed curve, and doing pretty well in dreaming practice, so if you love dreaming, I'd advise sticking around, DV is the best site on the internet for LD info and community.
I'm creeping up on 25 very soon now. When I first voted in the poll I was 19, so I definitely think it's time to make a new thread/poll if we want an accurate representation.
Also,
23 is my favorite number too. It's the day of the month I was born on, same with my sister who was born exactly 4 and a half years before me. It happens to be the day of the month a lot of the people I know were born on too.
Bunch of kids on here lol, I'm an ancient 41
When I joined, I was an 18-year old in the prime of my life. Now, I am 26 years old, and the stresses of adult life have weakened my poor muscles and made my bones brittle. Another reason for that could be that I gained 40 pounds by being a lazy slob.
Who knows.
Just turned 33. I'm too young for this shit. You people are too mature for me. :bang:
Turning 32 on Thursday
20
Well now, looky looky...
27th among 2-percenters. :chuckle:
Tell me why shouldn't people of ages 13-14 not be allowed on the internet? Cause their are 35 year olds less mature than people of those ages? This kind of offends me but I don't care.
I don't actually think that 13-14 year olds shouldn't be allowed on the internet, but it's important not to confuse behavioral maturity and the maturity that comes from the experience gained as people age. A good example of how this disparity in experience can have serious negative impacts on people that young is all the cases of young teenagers committing suicide as a result of online harassment. The difference those years of experience and even the difference in brain development makes leads to a real and significant difference in ability to cope with these kinds of things and avoid making decisions with permanent or, at the very least, long-lasting consequences.
It's not about people of "ages 13-14". We don't discriminate based on age or anything else. But there is a rule called COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule), which is about kids younger than 13.
"COPPA imposes certain requirements on operators of websites or online services directed to children under 13 years of age, and on operators of other websites or online services that have actual knowledge that they are collecting personal information online from a child under 13 years of age."
The owners of this forum are following this rule, it's nothing personal. It also has nothing to do about person's maturity level. But as snoop pointed out, there is plenty of reasons why young children should be limited in their access to some online places.
But this is off-topic, so if anyone is interested in discussing this, feel free to open a thread in Extended discussion forum.
I'm 3000 something years old. :P And very young at heart! Thank you:D
34, which seems very old for this forum... :whyohwhy:
Whippersnapper! :sageous:
I'm 14, turning 15. I started LDing when I was just turning 11 & joined this forum when I was 13. I consider myself lucky to have found this interesting world already at such a young age:) It was really nice to see from the poll how this forum is used by people of many ages, even thought young people seem to make up the majority.
I'm pretty sure I must have posted here before. But I'm currently 48 as of June 1st 2019. In a lot of ways I still feel like the teenager I always have been. But I have also picked up some old man habits as well. Such as falling asleep too easy and wanting to wake up ridiculously early in the morning. Like 1:00am 2:00am and enjoy the early quiet hours.
Netflix and coffee at 2:00am and knowing it's your day off and have all day to chill is bliss.
I'm still a baby in the business of dreaming. ;)
As of today, 25.
