      Car leather - my home village is famous...

      I just found out that I live about 100 metres away from a leather company which makes leather for Lincoln, Volvo, Saab, Vauxhaul (or "Opal"), Austin Martin, Mercedes and I think, but I can't remember, also maybe Audi. And more than that I think too.

      And they made the leather for the first every production car (Model T Ford)

      Apparently they are the biggest leather company in the world. And I live so close to it. I am looking at it through my bedroom window right now.

      And they also power my whole village by burning all the waste.

      Amazing or what.

      EDIT: oh yea, here is the site for it with information about it. Some interesting stuff in there.
      My house is in that big pic at the left on that home page. How awesome is that.

      both my mom and dad have Mercedes Benzs, so I'll check out the leather in them, in detail, when i get a chance.

      i live a couple of blocks away from the Playboy Mansion and the Spelling Mansion. Plus a lot of other cool things. I live like a block away from Beverly Hills.

      Even though the page clearly states that they provided leather for the Model T Ford, I highly doubt it. International trade wasn't what it is now back when the first car was made. In order to keep the price down, there's no way Ford would have imported leather to make the seats. I'm calling bullshit.

      Well, the cost of importing the leather would be nothing compared to the cost of exporting the finished car (and just making the car in general). So it is basically paying a very small percentage extra for high quality leather.
