      Anyone know anything about Michigan?

      So, some things happened, and I will be spending the next few years living in Michigan. Lansing Michigan to be precise. Anyone from there? Or know anything about it? I'm going there in March, and someone told me I will be there just in time for winter haha. So all i know is that Hockey and Michigan St. are huge there, and that its really cold. Anyone know anything helpful about the place? What about the Upper Peninsula or the "UP"? thanks!

      I know all about da UP, doncha know. It's different from lower Michigan in that it's mostly swamp an' deer, an' beer, der ey, while da lower part is more industrialized (also, their economy is shittier than the rest of the country's, and pretty much always has been). Whatcha goin' to Michigan for, anyway?

      First order of business:
      Michigan > Michigan State

      Now that we have that settled...

      Football is pretty big too, especially the college rivalries. It's cold here. Be sure to bring many jackets, and maybe a snowboard (or skiis if you're THAT type).

      If someone asks you where you are from, be sure to pull out your hand, refer to it as "Miss Michigan," point to the location corresponding to a map of Michigan, and then bid them good day and tell them that you and Miss Michigan need some alone time.

      The UP is full of trees, cold, fudge brownies, and moose.

      Lansing is filled with city officials. East Lansing is filled with college students. Fear not when you see them, they are most likely filled with Kierkegaard and local beer.

      It's fun to look for seaglass ("lakeglass") if you are by the lake, I did that when I lived near lake Michigan, it was so fun. Probably not what you are askin for, but who knows? You may find it fun. Just have to go to a beach with lots of rocks and not the "swimming" kind, I have a lot of seaglass. Green and white are normal, but sometimes you'll find blue, brown, and red (the rarest of all), which is awesome!

      sorry for those that replied, my internet has been off and on for the last couple of weeks and i forgot about this post. ive found out a little more about michigan and am very excited to go there. truth be told, im going on a LDS mission there for two years. i am very excited to serve there. so i guess i have a more specific question about the people there? are they mostly lutheran and catholic like i've heard? i hear they are the nicest people on earth. know anything else haha
