How to Be Out of the House More?

So my parents are quite irritants for me, one more than the other but both to some extent, and I'm getting to the point where there are times when I just don't want to be at home. I don't have any friends who I can go to their houses yet. I start college in the fall, eight months from now. And it's likely I won't be living on campus - financial reasons. Possible venues?

Here's what I can think off:

* Stay at work after shift ends: I work at McDonald's and there are times when other employees will stick around in the lobby, reading, chatting and whatnot for hours after their shift ends. I could do that, maybe.

* Public library: If I want to read a book or use the computers there, I could spend my days there.

Get a Gym membership, you might as well loiter around there all day and get in shape than hang out at MC Donalds. (not implying that you aren't in shape)

find some kids that have the same interests as you. Get a drink, pass a joint, play a video game-whatever you'd like. Eventually you will become better friends, and you'll be looking for free time.
