Thread: Does anyone know where to find a Spiderman web sound effect?

Have you tried just recording one from a movie?

See, I would, but in every scene there's music or vioces that go with it. I'm looking for a clear, extra-sound-less web sound effect.

And in case anyone wondered, this is for the movie I mentioned earlier (the Spiderman mish-mash).

Perhaps you could try recording it from one of the video games instead. Or get an old cartoon.

I tried searching for "thwip.wav" and came up with some hits. I didn't check the sites, but from the description there has to be one among them.

If you are going to take it from the game, don't record it. Just look for the sound file in your computer.

This is the big problem. If I can't find one, I'll need to record off of a game. But for best results I need to find it on my computer.......aaaaaargh XD

Just go into the sound files folder from the game's directory. One of the sounds will be it.

oh, uh, i play games on consoles.........my comp. is too crappy to play GOOD video games :p .

Uh, any good ideas of what game i can use for it? (if im getting it right, i just have to download a game, the use a sound from the "sound files" folder, right?)

Thats where i found mine. It's not the most awesome, but if you have a sound editor like cool edit, or sound forge, you can turn it into something better.

Hit ctl+f and type thwip. That should point it out.

My autistic little brother does that "man man" sound effects and it sounds pretty real. You should check that out...

Just play around with it in a sound editor like cool edit or sound forge. It's a lot easier than searching around on random sites that may be full of malware.

Wouldn't be terribly difficult to make your own, either. Tons of different whistling sounds would work.
