Thread: Do you use DV chat?

yeah, theres people in there, just it seems that few frequent at certain hours

the nature of irc has been that people idle in there, so the people that are in there might not be at the computer. this is why it seems that noone is there.
also usually people have some sort of notification system for when people say the others names, this is second best way to get someones attention, /msg is the best(providing the person sees the tab show up)

I used to, but not anymore.

I hang out in the "chat" thread with the regulars. Sometimes, we all go onto Mibbit and chat there.

I don't know how... It asks me for a username and password but I don't know where to make the account, and my DV account info doesn't work.

I've never once been in the chat room.

I use it sometimes but I'm always on skype I like that better sinc you can speak to people with a mic

You use your DV account for your IRC username and password.

Try logging out of the forum and back in again. That often works.

Also, I am in there pretty much 24/7... or rather, I appear to be there almost 24/7. Really, a lot of the time I leave the computer on while sleeping or at school.
Although lately my connection hasn't been so good so I've been disconnecting through the night.

I am also more active on a different channel from #DV, so yea... looks like I ain't a chatty one.

You're probably having trouble because of those weird characters. IRC doesn't like foreign characters. Talk to an admin about it. They'll set you up.

Oh yea, never thought of that.

Not only that but I can't figure out how to join a room... I guess it signs me in okay now but when I click a room it shows a large graph of something or other and then who is in the channel but nowhere does it say "Join This Channel" or anything... >.<

Are you using a client? Or pressing the "chat" button thats located to the right of "Log Out" and "Quick Links"?

If it shows the list of people who are in the room, then you are in the room.

The big thing that appears is ASCII are saying "DREAMVIEWS"

And to join another room you type "/join #roomname" For example, for the lucid dreaming room, you type "/join #luciddreaming"
