going on a massive bike ride.

i want to go on a crazy long bike ride soon, with in the next 2 months.
its an idea ive had since last year and i really really want to do it now. I am really wanting to go down to mexico or farther down even. I live in nebraska right now and im a 17 year old guy who thinks he might be fit enough to handle it. Last summer at least 3 times a week i would go on 10 mile or longer rides. And those seemed easy pretty quickly. But i have a buncha questions for anyone who would be kind enough to help me out. How much training should i do before i actually do it, like how long of rides should i be able to do easily before i could do a 1000 mile ride. Doing maybe 50 miles aday? is that too much or what would be an idea amount per day. Where could i find out a route i could take to go? I saw a that on google maps they have a beta bike route thing, which i guess might help out a lot. What do you think the amount of money i would need would be? I dont have a job and i dont have all that much money. I was planning on selling a ton of stuff i dont use on craigslist. (xbox, gamecube, tons of games, tv's, video camera, keyboard, old bikes, and i have tons of random shit all over my house that is worth selling) I am looking for a single person tent at the moment, because i know that would be the easiest place to sleep in. OH YEAH, one of the most important things, how do i leave the country? ive never left the country and i dont know a single thing about it, what would i have to do? would it cost money?
i have more questions, so i people respond to this i will ask more lol.

Also if anyone would like to join me by chance along the way, i wouldnt mind the company.

Holy fucking shit, I can't even finish reading this because the idea alone has me excited. Like, damn. I am not sure what you would need to do... but i think 10 miles vs nebraska-to-mexico don't really compare. I'd say set marks for yourself. Baby steps. Set a distance, go there, and then ride back home, and rest. Next trip go a bit further, and so on and so forth. Remember to focus entirely on hydration and food. Carbs, protein, and vegetables are the only things you should be eating, and keep the protien simple if possible. I don't recommend taking your xbox and shit, that's justy kind of dumb... save as much room for survival shit.

Another thing, learn how to survive by yourself in the woods. If you're going all the way to Mexico for god's sake, be prepared.

You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.
