Do you have something special?

I want to know if any of you have an object that holds sentimental value for you. If you do, please share!

I have a special item. My grandfather used to be a machinist and would make parts for farm equipment. He has long since retired but a while ago he gave me his vernier calipers he used in his machine shop.

I really appreciated his gift since I am studying mechanical engineering and I will be using these calipers often. It was quite touching when he gave them to me as he said "I hope these serve you as well as they have served me."

So do you have an object that holds sentimental value?

My best friend gave me a giant red yoga ball for my fifth birthday. It's been my favorite toy ever since. =D

Everyone has somewhere special in their heart for Pokemon. I have this toy Sandshrew keyring thingamajig. I'm more than amazed that I haven't lost it.

My special items are mostly pictures that my children have drawn. They're quite talented and I have them hanging up throughout the house.

I have a few antique glass boxes (Wavecrest) that my hubby has bought me over the years and some old Mother of Pearl Gaming pieces which are even older than the boxes.

An item I wear all the time, but which was purchased by my self for myself not so long ago is a pewter necklace. It comes in two pieces but is held together by a (???) they're "male and female" joinings where the male piece (for lack of a better word lol) holds the cord that ties behind my neck. It's circular, decorated with roses and leaves and the center is hollow so I keep an oil scented cotton ball inside. I found it at a local hippie store and they've never had another like it.

bullet that hit me in the chest about 6 years ago...

thankfully I was carrying a miniature copy of "god is not great" in my left shirt pocket, so I was completely unharmed.

All my concert memorobilia... signed items, set lists, confetti, guitar picks, drum sticks... Best days of my life. <3

A pack of Rosary beads that I got from the Vatican that were blessed by the Pope when I visited Europe a year ago. I bought them for my grandmother while I was over there, and when I got back she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She kept them with her until just before she died, when she gave them back to me and told me that she hopes they will someday mean as much to me as they did to her. I'm not overly religious, but it inspires me that she had such strong faith, and I'll definitely hold on to them.

I used to have a pound poochie from my grandma before she died, but I gave it to my best friend's daughter. :content:
