Thread: So apparently My school Blocked my Dreamviews Chat >:P

My school probably did that, but I haven't checked. Is your real location Illinois? Because I actually got caught on DV chat and that's why they most likely blocked mine. Wouldn't that be a twist, you going to MY school.

hit it up with a proxy, or use a flash drive to run a irc chat client lol

My friend from school once used a proxy to play on Runescape once. I hardly never got to go on the internet. I once checked my email at school one day my freshmen year in High School and I got caught. I didn't knew it was a rule at the time. Oh well some school's can be strict. This is why we have cell phones and laptops.

I've used Dreamviews in school before, but got tired of everyone asking what a "Dreamview" is.

Kids in School today don't know what anything is. Like before when I started home school I would tell them about anime, And they ask me. What is anime? And I was saying, You've got to be kidding me. Kids today only pay attention to normal stuff. As in partying, hanging with friends, etc. Most of the times if your into this kind of stuff like dreams, anime, games, etc. Kids will think your weird or a freak. I just ignore them.

Damn, what proxy did he use? Typically proxies are slow as hell.

As for getting on DV, I se my iPod touch when I'm in range of wifi, some rooms don't have it (however, the cafeteria where my study hall is does, and they allow iPods in study hall )

I hardly ever use the computers at school because they are slow as molasses in February in Alaska. I am not kidding here. On multiple occasions it literally took most of an entire class period (56 minutes) to freaking LOG IN. I think the RAM on those things is 516 MB per computer lab. Once you log in, they seem to be sort of okay, but EVERYTHING except the nanny sites are blocked. One of the criteria for blockage: Entertainment (and I highly doubt that the innocent stuff is excluded.) Anything with the youtube tag is blocked, even if it is like how to bake a cake. Yet I still have to look up videos for a humor class I am taking. About 4 percent of the videos make it through, and of those, maybe 5 percent are even useful.

I love overprotective technology.

Couldn't happen at my school, there's a firewall category "humor/jokes". There's a firewall category for almost everything.

That is exactly my trouble. Anything I search has maybe 15-20 hits that are relevant before the entries start going off on tangents, because of the search criteria. Apparently the firewall hates youtube, and EVERYBODY, including the teachers, hates that. There is almost nothing in the way of videos that are not on youtube.

I'm also in theater, working in the booth (the musical just closed to my extreme relief) and the computer that I spend 6 hours per day sitting in front of has no internet whatsoever, not even a printer. It is cut off save for the audio jack. Yet we still have to find sound effects that don't suck. Yay.

512 MB of RAM is pretty high yo. Our old school had 32 MB and probably still have them.

Schools routinely block standard IRC ports.
