If you're scared, say you're scared

I'm not sure if this has been discussed in past threads, but I was curious as to what everyone is "afraid" of...this may also include phobias.

I love and collect knives, but I am deathly afraid of being stabbed (not cut) by one or having to stab someone in self defense. I occasionally have nightmares of one or the other happening.

I'm fine with decapitation and being impaled (usually thats a 1 strike and you're out policy), but having to kill or be killed by a short hand held blade just doesn't sound too pleasant.

Now there's a phrase you don't hear every day.

I don't believe I really have any phobias or deep-rooted fears. I can't think of anything that really terrifies me.

I suppose something like being stranded out in the middle of the ocean on a boat or raft all by myself would be pretty scary.

You do realize that when they used to impale people sometimes it would take them like 3 days to die. Decapitation, yeah...you're out...but the whole...having a stake shoved up your ass and out your chest and hanging there for a few days doesn't sound to thrilling to me.

Anyway...I'm HORRIFIED of spiders. I have such arachnophobia. I'm also afraid of stuff I don't know about, like ghosts and spirits...and I get really freaked when it's pitch black. I'm also scared when I am somewhere that I know that if I screamed (for whatever reason) no one would be able to hear me.

im afraid of making others feel sad or uncomfortable. I dunno why, im just one of those people who puts others before myself (of course, not always!) I'd do anything for my friends and family, even if they wouldnt for me.

Hehe...I agree...I think my mind was limited to the javelin through the heart kind of visual...but being "ran through" and the piercing object not hitting a vital organ would be categorized as one of my worst fears.

I remember as a kid (prob 8 years old) my younger brother threw a lawn (sometimes called long) dart up in the air and it landed on top of my foot (nearly made its way through). I think ever since then the idea of a puncture wound gives me an eerie feeling.

I'd have to go with any animal/insect that is poisonous (spiders, snakes, all those creepy crawly things.)

I wouldn't mind decapitation as long as it wasn't terrorist style. Guillotine would be nice, but a long dagger sawing through my neck and artery and all the other stuff, that would be horrible. Dying in a fire would be really bad though, especially if you live awhile after wards. Thats probably the most painful way to die.

i have a couple irrationional fears... one's spiders and the other is snakes. a spider can't do much to hurt me and a snake just makes my hair stand on edge... so i have a very american way of dealing with these fears... i kill every spider and every snake that i see... it's as simple as that.

Getting white phosphorus thrown on you would be really painful. That stuff doesn't stop burning until there's nothing left to burn. It even burns under water.

I am scared of my neighborhood at nighttime ever since a close friend has been communicating with a ghost there.

I am also scared of cross-dressers.
