I wonder what his chances will be when he is auditioning for second chair or whatever and that is written at the top of his form, or when he applies for a teaching position; since those are almost the only two options for a music student.

The news have picked up on it just to show how wacky the youth of today are and how silly things are. I doubt he did it for the news attention, but goddamnit those fun lite-news stories need to be filled.
Its fairly common to have to put down former names on job applications and stuff as well. Especially ones that do background checks and stuff. So even if you do change your name back, it might still appear on your application or the background check itself.
