      Thumbs up Congratulations to Jessica Watson



      (I post this in pink, as Jessica's yacht, Ella, is Pink.)

      As all of us Australians know, Jessica Watson, 16, is due back from her journey today. They originally thought she would be back at around 11:30am, but it seems she will be an hour late.

      I just wanted to start a thread to inform people what Jessica Watson is doing.
      Jessica Watson is a 16 year old school girl who has decided to try to jump into the world records by becoming the youngest person to ever sail around the world solo, in her pink yacht, Ella.
      She's been out on the seas for 7 months and is finally due back today, Saturday the 15th of May. The Queenslander will mark the end of her epic journey today at Sydney Harbour.

      I know that there has been some controversy about Jessica's journey, but I think that what she has done is truly amazing and I congratulate her on going ahead and completing something that she wanted to do. If anyone else supports Jessica's achievement, post your congratulations here.

      I dunno, seems like anyone with a yacht and some spare time could do this. Good for her though.

      She's 16 and has a pink yacht of her own? Parents I take it? I don't mean to sound.. un-supportive but.. just sounds like a rich 16 year old girl who doesn't have to be in school so without anything better to do she decided to sail around the world.

      Just my take on it.

      She isn't rich. Supporters paid to build the yacht.

      Sure, you can say 'anyone could do this', but nobody has recently apart from her.. At least she got out and did what she wanted to.
