Thread: American people dont hate ginger hair like british people. Reason ?

The conventions are where they plot evil things, probably.

I have NEVER heard of this before now. I didn't even know you were talking about red heads until I read the replies.
But then again... I don't watch South Park.

I love red hair. I have light brown hair but when I'm out in the sun a lot it turns a strawberry blonde (which is what my hubby prefers and always bugs me to dye my hair to).
My little brother had fire engine red hair when he was a baby. Now that he's all grown up it's turned almost black

I love diversity and freckles

That hair colour's really pretty.

I've never heard anything negative about red heads/gingers. So I don't really understand this thread...at all.

Wow, I never realised that America didn't know anything about red-head bullying before all this south park stuff etc.

We have always known about it here... I assumed it happens everywhere.

There's a stereotype that red-heads are more firey, fiesty and have shorter fuses (as far as tempers go). Like any stereotype though........

Yea, but I wouldn't really stereotype red haired males to be like that.

Its been said a couple of times, but the reason why people in England generally dislike red hair is because of the fact that red hair comes from Ireland and Scotland and English people have something against the tribes that their ancestors stole the islands from.

Where I come from, the most common derogatory statement concerning red heads is "red headed step-child" as in, "I'm going to beat you like a red-headed step-child."

That annoys me because there making a big deal out of being "ginger". When theres no need to be. Thats like making a big event for black people. It wouldnt happen.

Yeah, that has been around befoire the SP episode. Fiery read-head is a fairly common phrase.

Nice, I just typed a bunch of stuff, and it's gone now... so here's the short version

I get made fun of on my other forums, and everyone bandwagon'd that. however, the mods help me out from time to time and it's gotten a lot better. I've been hearing it for the last 2 yrs

South Park... they do w/e, but that kid that makes the response made it worse

I've never been made fun of in real life, just the one forum

And I'm the complete opposite of the stereotype. I'm so laid back, it's prob unhealthy, lol

hahaha my friend says that all the time. Its in a joking manner of course, but I find the saying so funny
