REM dreamer - Basic instructions needed

Hi There,

I have a REM dreamer but no instructions, can someone please explain to me what some of the functions do, as it does not seem to work the way i expect it to work?

1. DELAY TIME

2.PRESET FOR: CUSTOM SETTINGS (options light sleeper/medium/heavy)

3. FLASH BRIGHTNESS = 1-9

4. SOUND VOLUME = 1-9

5. CUE LENGTH = 5/10 SECONDS

6. CUE FREQUENCY = 1-9 SECONDS

7. LENGTH OF SERIES OF CUES = 2-40 SECONDS

8. DREAM ALARM = ON- OFF

9. TWC = OFF/ LOW/ MEDIUM/ HIGH

10. REM DETECTOR TEST = PRESS VALUE MACHINE JUST BEEPS

11. GENERATED SERIES = 0 (CANT CHANGE VALUE)

12. REM DETECTOR - 1-9

13. TURN OFF THE REM DREAMER

If i want the Mask to flash during REM sleep after 5 hours of sleep what settings should i set?

When i set it, it just seems to act like an alarm and go off after the amount of time i have set it to, but most of the time i am awake when this happens, could it be that it is falsley detecting me being awake as me being in REM?

I have had success with this mask in previous attempts but think it has been mostly out of luck that i have been in the correct dream cycle.
