      Dream Pills

Okay so I was browsing through lucid dream related items on the internet, and came across things called lucid pills. The pills supposedly greatly increase the chance of gaining lucidity. I've read through many forums and reviews, but I'm still not convinced. If you have used these pills, do they work? Because I would really enjoy the ability to pop a pill and be lucid.
If you're going to be crazy, you have to get paid for it or else you're going to be locked up.

Sadly lucidity pills haven't been invented yet.

There are so many things people claim will help you lucid dream. I have never seen any actual research on them.

I know for sure there is no lucidity pill.

      Yeah, drugs contain no info.

You can't take a pill and learn calculus, and also you can't take a pill and just know that you're dreaming. Think about it... does the pill have the sentence "You are dreaming!" encoded in it?

You're missing the point. He means something that makes you lucid dream, not learn how.

I missed the point a little then, my apologies, there are lots of pills like zebra says that proclaim to make you lucid dream but to be fair i think they are just in it for the money, however , there are certain vitamins etc that may well help but it takes alot of hard work and effort to be able to lucid dream, have you taken a look at the thread about herbs etc that may help it's worth a luck, not saying it will help but they are all legal and may be worth a shot as an extra aid. I myself take 5HTP along with vitamin B6 ...does it help, not sure yet it may just be a placebo effect i dont know, but i feel better for using it and if it is a placebo effect then im not bothered if it seems to be helping some what..hope this helped a little

Pills can make you have vivid dreams, but lucidity is information, and drugs can't do that. Lucidity is the KNOWLEDGE that YOU ARE DREAMING, which no drug can give.

Maybe if there is a pill that makes your dreams super unrealistic, it can help you realize you are dreaming...

Trust me when I say this: NO amount of craziness can make you lucid. I think person X needs to be vivid an aware in order to process the extraordinary, and that's where Pyridoxine + tryptophan come in.

If I remember correctly, the original post "Dream Pill" is an imaginary pill you take during a LD in order to stabilize the dream or accomplish other tasks... it's a way to communicate/trick with your subconscious mind. I've used it a numerous times in my lucid dreams. Some with success and some failed in some most hilarious ways. I once found a pill in my pocket and when I took it out it grew to the size of a melon... I nearly choked on it and woke up from a very cool LD! That's the price you pay when you overdose. LOL.

Shoot. I was really hoping that the pills(in combination with dream recall, reality checks, etc.) would be real, and not just some corporate scam. I hate the things people do for money. Anyway, B6 seems to work with vividness pretty well. While on subject, are there any other pills or vitamins that increase recall/vividness?

I've had success using galantamine + choline, and huperzine-a with and without nicotine, melatonin and DMAE. I've only begun experimenting with the first two recently, in the past few months.

My LD history is - prior to experimenting with chems, LD's were spontaneous, I would just *know* I was dreaming, no RC's, no "work", and they were fairly sporadic. Actually, I can think of only twice that I've become lucid from an RC, and that was in the past two weeks (using huperzine-a). I was also told that it's much more difficult to LD with huperzine than galantamine, but I've found the opposite to be true (lucky for me, hup is much cheaper and OTC). Just goes to show you can't believe what everyone tells you...people get stuck in their own reality tunnels, and we all have different body chemistry, genetics, et cetera. I'm not suggesting you discount the wisdom of other's experience, I am suggesting you check the ingredients of the pills you are interested, research them online, and see for yourself whether they work for you. You can try using an inexpensive homeopathic formula, which are pretty much literally sugar pills, and compare them to the effects of the dream pills you are interested in, and determine for yourself how they stand up against a placebo. Who knows, the placebo may turn out to work better!

Galantamine is an alzheimers drug and increases your chances of getting lucid and having longer and more vivid dreams. I've taken it many times and what I can tell from personal experience is that it does work.

HOWEVER. As many has mentioned, there's not much research about it (actually not much about why and how we dream either) that proves that it does increase your chances. If there would have been tests done with sugar pills for half the test subjects, we'd have more proof. But at the moment it's just as likely to be placebo working its wonders.

I've seen some lucid dream like pills on the internet before, but a months worth of pills is about $80. I personally don't think it's worth it unless you got a lot of extra money on your hands.

I went into this post thinking you were talking about something completely different. The only lucid pills I have heard of was a suggestion by someone on this forum(sorry i cant remember who) about while being lucid in a dream, you create pills and tell yourself that once you take them you will have: more interesting dreams, having better dream recall, having more lucid dreams, etc. I would say that would probably work more than someone trying to sell you something. The problem with buying something from someone is that this world has been based around money and in economic times like this people will downright lie to your face & screw you over if it is to get some money.

I'm paying about $2 per dose per 8g galantamine dose, and next to nothing for the huperzine-a. The huperzine-a is available from brand name supplement companies, and I get the galantamine from someone who I trust who is involved with a dreaming "think tank" who has an interest in providing quality material. Anyone can read my dream log to see how it works for me, now that I have a more stable housing situation I'll collect my data and post more.

And though once I got stoned in a dream from dream cookies, I haven't had any luck with 'placebos' otherwise. I would love it if that happened though because I love chemicals and I also love staying legal

Certain supplements have been proven effective, but please don't waste your money on expensive "lucidity pills". These are obviously a scam. Just go and get some supplements. It will be cheaper for you, and more effective.

      The answer is NO.

Lucid dreaming is a skill that has to be learned. You increase your awareness throughout the day by testing your state and doing several other exercises and induction techniques. The only thing that these supplements might be able to do is increase the vividness / clarity of the dream, or improve dream recall.

If you ask me, I'd say a cup of very strong Lemon Balm Tea should noticeably increase your dream clarity. It works for me.

How is a pill supposed to increase your awareness, which is essentially what causes a lucid dream? In short, no, they're definitely not worth getting because they won't work. Be careful when looking at products online because people are paid to do testimonies, just as celebrities are paid big bucks to represent products on television. Meditation and improvement of awareness in general is all you need. Don't waste your money.

      Also, moved to Lucid Aids!
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
