Ok so I figured that coffee will keep you awake at night and won't help you get into a lucid dream, but does it help your lucid dream also? I don't know, but if it is meant to keep you awake, can coffee keep your subconsciousness awake and working while your consciousness is fast asleep? I don't really think it's possible but I think it's worth a try. |

Not that I know of. Actually I think it would have a negative effect. Same goes for anything with caffeine, which makes it harder to go to sleep after having a bunch of. If there is a positive effect, it's because you think there will be one and it's becoming a placebo. |

Often when I'm on a caffeine (lots of that in coffee, nomnom...) buzz, I'm more mentally aware but it fades as soon as I get into bed. If one were to drink coffee right before they got into bed, before the buzz started to kick in, it'd probably just keep them awake until it wears off - at that point, you'd also be mentally tired and might not even dream at all if you're tossing and turning half the night. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

The only thing caffeine does for me before bed is make my mind race. I can't stop thinking about the day and can't quite get into a trance to induce a lucid. I wouldn't use it for a lucid aid. |

During a WBTB, caffeine helps, but before bed, it causes insomnia, which is bad for LDing. During WBTB, if you drink caffeine, it will not kick in before you get back to sleep, so it wont cause insomnia, but it will activate you brain |
