Not sure QWER, of how they work.
I do know that you listen to them before, leave them on as you go to sleep, or delay it so it plays a few hours later when you're dreaming.
As for wether they actually work, I'm pretty skeptical..
I believe binaural beats helps me. I think it depends on the person, maybe.
I listening to binaural beats every night, not just for lucid dreaming, but also to calm down. I find it very difficult to fall sleep, if I don't listen to some relaxing music, because of all my thoughts. So, first of all, it helps me a lot to fall asleep. Well, my lucid dreams was after I listened to binaural beats, the first one I listened to it before bed and to WBTB, but my last LDs I only listened to it before bed, not to WBTB. :)
Some people find binaural beats annoying, and some others (like me) find it very relaxing.
What do you think about binaural beats?

I had no success with them. They kind of messed me up for a while too (constantly insanely tired), so wouldn't readily recommend them to anyone else.
You will find very mixed results with binaural beats. Personally i found them extremely useful during a WBTB.

I think that they work differently for each person. I personally haven't had much success with them, but plenty of people have. They are worth a shot! You just listen to them right before you go to bed or during the night while you're sleeping! :D
The ones I've listened to made my head hurt. A lot. Maybe they were fake or to hgih a frequency for me, though... I heard the Beta is what you're supposed to start with...?
Yeah, apparently this is key to how they work (if they work at all). I've tried falling asleep listening to them but I can't fall asleep with earphones in so I didn't get far with them.Quote:

I prefer Isochronic over Binaurals, they supposedly work better too. The reason binaurals are so popular is because they can be hidden behind music or nature sounds and still be effective. You have to listen to an isochronic by itself for it to be useful. I use Gnaural to make all of my entrainment tracks. I uploaded some basic ones, there's a link in my sig.
I've been reading more about this and I'm confused. I can see that theta and delta beats are used for relaxation as they mimic deep sleep but if our brainwaves are the same when awake and in REM (alpha and beta) then what is listening to aplha beats supposed to do?
Alpha is relaxed wakefulness. You feel very relaxed and tranquil, but without being tired or drowsy. It's prominent during meditation, and also when smoking cannabis. Alpha is definitely one of my favorites to meditate to. It's also very easy to entrain because you don't have to go very far to get there.
Also Alpha waves when watching TV. I know that the realxation and meditative kind is good though.
I find that the most comfortable frequency combination is any two between 60-80 Hz. My favorite is 70 Hz and 73 Hz. If they're too harsh or annoying, you can try mixing them in under some ambient music, the ocean, a forest, or what have you. If you have a mac, just use Logic or Garage Band. Make a session with two mono tracks, pan them all the way left and the other all the way right put a tone generator on each. This way, you can try out different combinations of frequencies and tweak them to your taste!Quote:
