      Lucid dreaming mask Kickstarter

      Greetings DV!
I wanted to pass along something I found on Reddit that you all may be interested in. A couple of guys have created a lucid dreaming mask called Remee that's similar to the NovaDreamer and REM Dreamer, but less expensive and hopefully better! They have a prototype prepared, but are looking for funding to begin mass production. If you're interested in one or want to help out, feel free to contribute to their funding campaign below.
Here's the link to the Kickstarter page.
Reddit post with information and Q&A.

You've already achieved your goal, so congrats on that man I hope it'll satisfy all dreamers. I have few questions for you

      1) Have you tried it? What were your experiences like?
      2) I've been lucid dreaming for the past 16 years. But I heard the concept of WILD few years ago. So I'm more like natural LDer, but WILD really intrigues me. How would Remee affect my WILDs? I mean how can it help? (My usual method of WILDing is trying after 4-5 hours of sleep)

      Congrats on reaching your goal.

Are you going to bring one out that can detect REM after this one? Maybe in conjunction with a smart phone app with accelerometer to keep size down?

Whoa... nice. I might have to actually go put some money in the bank to get one. I wonder if it'll work with me at all since I tend to think I have an extremely weird sleep schedule.

I'm curious how the fit is. I've heard complaints that the straps on the nova dreamer were quite uncomfortable on the ears. Did you guys improve on the comfort factor? I was always curious if thinner straps, or perhaps adjustable/removable/ replaceable straps were possible.

      1) Indeed we have! All throughout the prototyping phase, and still now we've been testing these for fit, comfort and results.
      2) We actually think Remee works *particularly* well for Wake-back-to-bed WILDing. There's a Nap Mode setting that you can set to go off after any interval you like - I find that 10 minutes seems to work rather well for me.

Thank you so much for your interest, and sorry I haven't been back to this thread sooner! I thought I was getting email notifications from it but I forgot that I wasn't the original poster

Thank you so much! We're researching all methods of REM detection right now. The future is wide open for Remee!

We had to balance usability with bulk/comfort. Adding adjustable straps, etc introduces the possibility of having something uncomfortable against your head while you sleep - hard plastic would dig, soft plastic/rubber/silicon would catch and pull your hair. In the end we decided that getting some nice firm-but-not-too-firm elastic at a good width, measured reasonably, should take care of practically anyone.

Thank you everyone for your support and questions!

I just backed the project and purchased a remee!

      Two questions:

      1. Is there a way to have it shipped to a different Amazon address than my billing address? My permanent address is not my current residence.

      2. How will we make the color selection?

Any other info you can provide about the process of shipping/delivering the remee is much appreciated!

Thanks, and cheers to the projects success!

I am backing this project on Kickstarters, but one question/comment/suggestion: There should be an app placed on the Android and App Store for the cycle programming. I think this will help for people who are in bed and want to change settings, or out of town etc. If you haven't started development on that already I would be glad to help! Just send me a message.

I'm glad I found this project on Kickstarters, can't wait for July!
      Are you dreaming?

Finally getting into things and recalling 3-6 dreams a night

This thing looks awfully neat and you guys will do very well with it.

I have hardly any money, but I am so close to scrounging up what I DO have to give to you guys.

I wish you would make a video / post about your experiences with lucid dreaming, previous to, and after using the Remee. How often can you successfully lucid dream without, and how much has using your invention increased your chances?

      Goodluck to you!

I just donated for the $80 option, looks like a great little product without the huge price tag. Good to see you guys reaching so high above your initial goal! I can not wait to give it a go.

This looks excellent! I will definitely look into supporting Just a quick question, when will it actually be released?

EDIT: Also, how much will it be after it is released?

I supported this and I'm excited to give it a go! I can't wait till it releases sometime in July like you guys have for an ETA.

REM detection would be absolutely amazing, and give this thing perfect accuracy, but I'd imagine that requires a lot more research on how to fit something like that in a mask without making it super bulky. This should be good enough, and if anything it'd just require a few attempts of changing the time by a half hour more or less to eventually find out what your average is.

      Cannot wait!

They could team up with the other kickstarter project with the e-paper watch. Could be an awesome LD combo, connected via bluetooth.

An smart phone app that allows Remme mask tweaking would be Very Nice. Not sure the size the bluetooth hardware would have to be on the mask itself?
A REM detection within the mask I would assume is the next series Remee masks to come out...time will tell.

SleepWithRemee - awesome that you are here answering questions!
      1. Do you ship to Ukraine?
      2. why did you opt for the blinking light way of transferring data? is it to keep the device more compact and the costs down?
