Question about B-6

Last night I tried B-6 for the first time. I took 100 milligrams, and for the first time in days I had a vivid dream. But I have a question about B-6 that I hope someone can answer for me. How many days in a row can one take B-6? If I were to take it for too many days would it become toxic. I have looked all over the internet for the answer and so far nothing. I've read of people who took 250 milligrams, but I've read that's not recommended. Another site states that no one should take more than 1,000 milligrams. Any insight would be helpful.

Its not bad for you if you keep taking the dose ur taking and will help lucid dreaming but... It makes it harder to fall asleep and when u stop taking them dreams will feel much less real and clear for a while depending on your tolerance.

That part is not good. I'm just starting to recover from a slight bout of insomnia.

Than don't take it trust me man I thought it was a good idea read up about it and everything so I take a few go to bed was up til 5 in the morning next day my dad saw me eating one before bed and told me what they keep you up all night don't take the risk ur lucky u don't smoke weed or anything keep it like that, I started to smoke weed before bed a few months ago ever since whenever I try to stop cold turkey I have no cravings, no urges or anything but the second I hit the pillow I need a hit. Patience is the key to success just keep a journal read up about ld'ing and stay positive I started serisouly trying a few days ago everyday I'm getting better recall I just need to be able to train my reality checks keep it up and I have only had one lucid dream in my life or at least I'm aware of and Im gonna keep trying Until I get one.

Forgot to mention everything I said a based on my opinion and lots of research I may not be 100 percent right but I'm 99 percent sure just do some research. And keep these words in your head... There is no easy way out in life... Just keep saying that and you will natrually have one and if you doubt yourself you won't have one even tho I've had just one I still know that I can have one anytime I want just keep a positive attitude and it will come

I know u didn't do it for a "fix" even if u do it out of curiosity next thing you know you end up depending on it to go to sleep and if u take too much it can mess up your hormones from the pinurel gland the organ that produces melatonin and selatonin at night when ur relaxed ur body produces it so just keep a blank mind meditate every morning, and before bed go back into the meditation state and next thing u know u will be sleeping.

Holy crap! Thank man, you saved me a great deal of aggravation. I've actually just started meditating, it helps a great deal. I think that's why my insomnia is starting to go away.

If you want B6, get it naturally from foods.
Honestly, it always works better that way. You'll get more out of it because B6 is more easily digested when found in foods rather than supplements. HERE is a list of foods high in B6.

And as it was mentioned before, this isn't a shortcut to quick lucids- but instead an aid.
Despite what people might try to say, there is no shortcut to getting lucid short of being a natural.

Yes and no techinaccly it aids lucid dreams but when you stop taking them you won't be able to sleep and will become an insomniac anywhere from a few nights to a few moths depending on many factors... It's a short term answer to a long term mistake... Just be positive and u get melatonin everynight from ur sleep I'm no expert in ld'ing but I sure do know a fair amount about the human brain when it comes to these types of circumstances. Although I only seriously started trying a few days ago I am getting closer everynight

RDA of vitamin B6 is 2 mg. In a scientific study, 250 mg were tested 3 nights in a row for its effect on dreams. However you shouldn't take it too often and generally avoid taking B6 two nights in a row. Also avoid taking extreme amounts (more than 350 mg) and drink enough water with it.
Vitamin B6 can help in two ways:
1. It helps to metabolize 5-HTP to serotonin (which is metabolized to melatonin).
2. It helps to metabolize L-dopa to dopamine.
You need certain nutrients for vitamin B6 to work. 5-HTP is made from tryptophan, L-dopa is made from tyrosine, both are aminoacides. However it all is little tricky, because it isn't good to take the nutrients with vitamin B6 at the same time. Serotonin and dopamine don't cross the blood-brain barrier, but their precursors do. If you take the aminoacides with B6 together, they will metabolize in your stomach, won't enter your brain and will be harmful for you.
Vitamin B6 doesn't work for me. I have tried it alone and together with 5-HTP. I haven't tried to combine it with L-dopa yet. However be very careful before taking any stuff that affects dopamine.

Hope this helps you. I take a liquid vitamin b supplement every night and I am fine. It makes my dreams a little more vivid. I can see what you guys means about it making you stay up, though. When I take it, it give me a boost of energy. 5 hour energy actually has 8333% of the daily value of b12 and 2000% of B6.

That's how I thought of B-6, as an aid.

Thanks to everybody's input. i really appreciate it.

I found that taking B6 two nights in a row, I had much less dreaming experiences the second night. Also, I found that taking doses above 75 or 100mg had no increase in effect. If anything, the dreams became less coherent. All of this could be coincidence of course.

For the past few months though, I have been taking vitamin B6 during the daytime to give me more energy. It works wonders for me in that respect.
