Awoken - Android App
Hi everyone! I want to present to you an app which I recently discovered. It is called "Awoken" and is, as far as I know, only available on Android.
For those of you that don't know this app, it basically reminds you to do a reality check. It lets you choose how many times you want to be reminded during waking life and while you're asleep. It goes like this: Between 7:00 and 23:00: 20 clues (an example).
The great thing about this is that you can choose a sound that is played everytime you're given a clue. In my opinion, the "bubbles" sound is the best, but do see which one works best for you!
This sound is not only played while you're awake, but also while you're dreaming. So it gives you a clue while you're asleep, and if you notice it you perform a reality check and attain lucidity. That's the gist of it.
I've been using this app for about 1 week, and I am very happy with it. It is much more fun for me to question my reality, and I seem to do it constantly and by habit! Even my friends are doing a reality check everytime that bubble sound plays, which adds to the motivation. I haven't had any lucids with this app so far (only had 1 anyways :P) but I feel like it's getting me that much closer.
I do encourage you to try it out for yourselves, because I think you will like it.
I've got one question though: Has anyone ever had success with this method of becoming lucid, or similar others? You know, hearing a sound in your dream and then doing a RC, becoming lucid.

Sounds great for starting, but personally
I don't think it would help me because, i like to
make the reality checks instinctively. because if i am dreaming
I'll only make reality checks when i heard that app sound
If i make them without any external recourse, i'll make them anytime (i guess :p)
But great found, thanks for sharing it :)

Just downloaded it to have a look and it's a really sleek app.
I would say that you should try to train yourself not to Reality Check only when this app notifies you. Use it as a reminder that you should be thinking about awareness as you go through your day, but continue to try staying aware all day and performing Reality Checks when you notice something strange or unusual. Don't be fully reliant on the app, use it only as a tool.

Thanks for your advice @Iriba and @realdealmagic, I'm always happy to learn something from more experienced lucid dreamers :-)
Yeah, it is really nice, my favorite lucid dreaming app so far.
I guess the past few days I did rely on it too much, I'm gonna minimize the reminders and see how this will work for me. I'll try to experiment some more with the Dream Clue sound thingy, though, I'm really curious about it.
Also sorry for posting in the wrong section!

I just started trying this app out the other day, I was actually about to make a thread about it myself then I saw yours. It seems like a really cool idea with potential. So far I haven't had any luck with it either but it's definitely helping me remember to reality check. I get busy during the day and just forget, then I hear my sound. A lot of times I will leave the notification on my phone so that when I turn it on to check my texts or the time I'll see the icon and RC then too.
The thing I noticed, or rather didn't notice, was hearing it at night. The only time I've ever heard my sound during the night was last night when I was awake for a moment (I tend to wake up a lot, roll around, etc) and it happened to go off; it hasn't incorporated itself into my dreams yet. Maybe I'll get frustrated and try to just turn the volume up so loud that it actually wakes me up then I can try WBTB  Too bad I didn't think about that last night when it happened. Kicking myself again.
