Does cherry melatonin affect dream recall? Help!

(Not sure if I've put into the right forum. Can't find the Lucid Aids thing.)

So I have insomnia really bad, and I take a cherry melatonin drink every night. It helps me get to sleep and stay asleep, but my dream recall has gone down from 2-4 dreams a night to 0. I don't even get any fragments!

I'm getting a bit upset by this because I'm doing everything to try and get my dream recall up. I've got a dream journal, a waking journal, and I keep my awareness up during the day. It must be the drink, but I can't just stop taking it otherwise I can't get to sleep again. (Without the aid, I only get 2 hours of sleep a night.)

I just don't know what to do, guys. Please help!

I wouldn't use melatonin as a sedative regularly. It is a neurohormone which means that you can screw with you Circadian rhythm and worsen your insomnia. If you have insomnia, you should probably talk to your doctor about it to get an alternative medication.
