One REM-Detector to rule them all (non-invasive)

After a decade of testing every sensor out there, from EKG to EEG, I have found the missing basic in the search for lucidity. I proudly present: Halovision. A new Lucid Scribe plugin that measures the amount of change between each frame from a webcam stream. And plays audio tracks when rapid eye movement patterns are detected.

The Android version is finished and I just need to create the images for the Marketplace. The iOS version is about half-way there.

The REM-detection algorithm is still under development and investigation, but it should trigger under the default settings after blinking a few times in a row, with around two seconds between each blink.

I need some log files to perfect the REM-detection algorithm - if you happen to awaken from a dream and can see a distinct pattern in the logs just before you woke up, please send me the LSD file or upload it to the Lucid Scribe Database project.

Is that an IR webcam, or do we have to sleep with the light on?

You will have to sleep with a night-light on unless you have an IR webcam.

Have you tested this, and does it work? (I assume you have if the Android version is finished).
REM is behind closed eyes, so how does the webcam see anything change?

I have tested it while awake and the sleep tests are going on right now. I only have a webcam on my development machine and the fan is too loud to have it on my nightstand. LinkZelda is helping me test it over at the research forum: http://www.dreamviews.com/research/1...nt-needed.html.

Even though REM is behind closed eyes, it should be pronounced enough at times to pick up the twitches with a webcam.
