      Has anyone tried the "Lucid Dreams" pill sold on amazon?

      I've been trying to have a lucid dream for nearly 2 weeks with no success. My dream recall is alright. I can recall 2-3 dreams a night. And I do RCs regularly. Now I'm thinking of buying the pill. *Link Removed* "* Lucid Dreams * 60 Capsule Lucid Dreaming Supplement & Lucid Dream Instructional E-Handbook. Huperzine, Choline, 5-HTP, Melatonin and more!" Does it work for anyone?

      I really don't think you should start spending money on dubious pills after only 2 weeks of training.There are people who practice for 6 months with no lucid dreams before starting to get results. You haven't even scratched the surface yet. Train your brain for lucid dreaming naturally, so that you cultivate the skill and have it for the rest of your life, don't rely on external chemicals, just my two cents..

      I totally agree.
      Most people here will not reach the level of proficiency that we all yearn for, those that do persevere will usually take decades to master the art.
      It truly is an entire change to your lifestyle.

      Lucid dreaming is a skill like any other (i.e. takes time to master). There is no magic pill. You wouldn't take a pill to learn how to play the piano now would you?

      ^^ and to put an exclamation point on what the last two guys said, these pills are only aids for lucid dreaming; they do not cause LD's, regardless of what their ad copy might profess. In other words, you must already know how to LD, and be mentally prepared to LD, before you can be successful at consistent LD'ing --- and then the pills might help.

      The best things are never easy, and LD'ing is definitely one of those best things. So keep working, and save your money for now; the pills can wait.

      Also, for what it's worth, I probably wouldn't bother with this particular pill anyway, as its seller does not clearly list its ingredients or the amounts of each provided.

      Okay, I won't buy the pill. However, it is so frustrating. My school starts in 2 months. I probably won't have much time by then. I just want to acheive it before that.

      Hey no worries! Be consistent and you'll get an ld sooner or later. For better results, be sure to put your heart into the induction techs, daily practice, etc.

      Have a look at this - it combines multiple techniques to maximize ld chances. Good luck!

      Sageous made the most important point. Supplements, if they work at all, work by increasing your chances (through various effects on sleep, brain chemistry etc') to become lucid, not by causing or triggering lucidity on their own. I did a whole episode on supplements on the podcast and I am running a few experiments to try the various supplements out there but results are not promising so far. This is not to say they can't help (and it probably varies from person to person) but this is not a reliable stand alone method.

      You won't have much time? Do not fall for that mindset. You will fall asleep at least 1 time every day. If you wake up for any reason, you get to fall asleep again. Practice holding a mantra in your awareness right up to the point you become unconscious. Make the mantra something about dreaming. Perhaps, "I want to lucid dream, I want to lucid dream."

      You will likely have some dreams every night. You will also hopefully wake up at least 1 time daily. Take the length of 1 snooze setting to reflect on your dreams, or attempt to remember them.

      You will have a wonderfully structured life for using "reality checks." Every time you hear a bell, every time you enter the lunch room you can train yourself to remember to do reality checks.

      You have all the time you need, life does not need to prevent a sleep based hobby.

      I commute 2 - 2:30 hours to college. I usually have to leave at 6 am, which means I have to get up before that. When I go to college, I mostly get 5 hours of sleep or less. You know I can't sleep early because of homework and all. Luckily I can nap on buses. Lol but I don't think I can lucid dream there.

      Well that is unfortunate, because lucid dreaming usually only happens after about 4.5-6 hours of sleep. More importantly though, sleeping for only 5 hours is very bad for you. Not only does it impair you learning, it allows degrades your cognitive functions and ability to concentrate throughout the following day. The truly frightening part is that they recently found that any amount of lack of sleep can cause irreversible brain damage.
      Is there absolutely no way you can get more sleep?

      Fortunately for me, my REM period happens at around 4 hours and 30 minutes, so you should try to figure your time out using alarms. Keep setting it back/forward from 5 hours until you can't remember any dreams.

      Regarding the time you've spent trying, it's completely different for everyone. I had my first exactly 7 days after I joined this site, and it was purely induced from having the topic of lucid dreaming on my mind constantly. I studied for hours a day and eventually saw results that way.

      On an unrelated note, this is my first post in a long time.

      I agree with what Dutchraptor has said - you are not doing yourself any good only sleeping for 5 hours, and you probably won't be able to lucid dream with that little sleep either.

      One of the important factors to good lucid dreaming is a generally healthy lifestyle - plenty of sleep, only small amounts of all the bad things (alcohol, stress etc.), and then a consistent approach to the techniques described here and elsewhere.

      And supplements, yes, they only work for you if you know how to LD first. I only tried them after about a year and a half of first starting to try to LD, and after achieving about 20+ short LDs "naturally".
      Even so they tend to improve the vivid-ness of my dreams, but don't guarantee lucidity.
