      Mugwort + Wormwood experience

Well I don't want to wait any more for Nfri to come up with the template for a grand unified supplements experiments thread, so I'll just put this down:

Last night I made and drank a Mugwort + Wormwood tea (2 tablespoons mugwort, 1 tablespoon wormwood, 1 bag mint tea in one cup of water). The Mugwort and wormwood were bought from amazon, they're both chopped/dried mixtures of small "bits" of plant.

The wormwood in the bag smells much stronger than the mugwort, perhaps my mugwort is not as fresh? The taste of the mugwort is fairly bitter though, so maybe it doesn't "smell" as much.

Boy howdy though, the wormwood is *bitter*. Egads. I had to pop about 3 mini-altoids (strong mint candies) along with the tea to get it down.

I took the tea right at bedtime (11:20pm) and went to bed.

Results: it definitely had a noticeable effect.

I woke at 4.5 hours with good recall of 3-4 solid scenes, and knowing I had had more and forgotten it. That is much more recall and more detailed at that time than has been usual for me lately.

Unfortunately, though, I basically did not get back to sleep after that.

I felt in rather an "altered state" -- not unpleasant, I felt very "dreamy" like I could pop out of my body at any point, or drop right into a dream, yet I could not sleep. Sort of a light buzzing all through my body.

Well, I *dd* actually fall asleep briefly one more time, and had a short lucid dream where I lost visuals right away and ended up waking in my bed to myself rubbing my hands, just like I was doing in my dream. I now think this may have been a FA since this has never happened to me before, had I caught it I could have gone on for a while. I also had a short but vivid non-lucid (very lifelike feeling) after that, but other than that, no more sleep for me.

I also at one point later in the morning had a few cases of fairly sharp chest pains. Very unpleasant. Maybe from all the sleep deprivation, but I probably will not be repeating this combo due to this and the insomnia. But it (especially the wormwood) is effective if you can bear the side effects and get back to sleep.
