Herb for use as Mugwort Placebo?

I have a bit of an odd question...
In the future, I'll be doing some research comparing various lucid supplements to placebos.
Is anyone aware of a herbal tea that looks and tastes similar to mugwort, without the supposed dream-enhancing effects?
      Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Not sure. Look for something REALLY bitter. Mugwort tastes terrible. Have you had any positive experiences with it yet?

I've sometimes had extra awareness/lucidity, but it's not consistent.
I think it probably has more to do with the WBTB/expectation than the herb itself, but I'm not sure yet.

Try Centaurium (Centaury). It is quite similiar, bitter and without any dream-inducing properties. Centaurium - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have drank both herbal teas and I can confirm they could be good for placebo test.

Excellent, thanks DAI - I'll look into it!
That's exactly the kind of advice I was after, very much appreciated!
