Question Any one knows how to make an ossilating-tdcs ?

I have successfully constructed my simple tDCS device and after only 5 days of using it i had a lucid dream that i could attribute to the device but now i have a problem , research shows that you need a oscillating-tDCS device to alter your brain waves along with stimulating the part you wanna stimulate using direct current . (scientists succeeded at inducing lucid dreaming using oscillating tDCS that altered brain waves to 40 hz while stimulating the dlpfc with the o-tDCS device. My device currently only provides a direct current and doesn't have the oscillating capability , does any one here how to modify it to provide frequencies to the current while still providing a direct current that flows from the anode to the cathode , am a med student not an electrical engineer so i don't know how it could be done , any help would be appreciated , and please keep it as simple as possible.

will that preserve the dc current or will it just turn it into an alternating current ?( i want an oscillating direct current rather than a true alternating current.

It should yes, but like I said I know very little on the topic. Perhaps go to Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation there's a few guys on there who might be able to help.

Thanks for your help what you said is correct and the 555 timer chip can produce square waves with positive to negative polarity so it should work , my only problem now is you need an oscillator to measure such frequency and it costs 300 dollars at least to get one, so i would have to depend on my calculations or on self experimentation .

Well you're a med student right. Is there not someone in the engineering department of your university (if you have one) who could help you?

Surely your university has a message board where you could ask for help?
