      marijuana before bed: LD aid

Smoking marijuana an hour before bed or so then going to bed for 5 hours, then a WBTB/WILD = lucid dream every morning.

Smoking weed heavy for 2.5 years straight, every day did not effect dream recall at all, in fact being relaxed helped me stay in my bed in the morning in the same position. Dream recall is almost near perfect with marijuana as a sleep aid the day before. being a heavy pot smoker / light does not seem to effect lucid dream consistency, or dream recall noticeably.

I've been having lucid dreams every day for almost 3 months now, with the help of MJ (give or take).

It seems marijuana does not actually hinder any dream chemicals such as dmt or melatonin, and for some reason WILD is MUCH faster/easier with certain types of THC (some indicas that are shit make you fall asleep before you're able to do anything). lambs bread, cheese, chemo, chemdog, are all great choices, they for some reason amplify almost every aspect of lucid dreaming IMO.

One thing I have learned after lucid dreaming close to every night, is the intent of emotion you bring with you before/as you fall asleep.
That intent to me is the single most important action you can take to make yourself lucid.

This may just be for me, but i think that the sole reason other people can't get dream recall while influenced by THC is because either:
A: they believe they can't get dream recall because other people told them THC makes it go away.
      B: They're smoking some shwag.

Just about everything you've said is true for me too. I use cannabis to help me sleep and I find that it not only helps me have lucid dreams but it doesn't affect my dream recall at atll!

It's astonishing how different the effects of weed are for different people. In the past 2.5 years I have made the exact opposite experiences; In periods of heavy consumption and using it as sleep aid I find zero entrances in my DD, while it explodes with amount and variety when i stop using it. In fact the only thing that really motivated me to stop using weed for some periods in the past was my interest in dreaming.

I found this out completely on my own and before I knew it was a rather common phenomena, so A doesn't hold for me (nor does B LOL).

No judgement, just out of curiosity: Have you ever tried say a month without weed to compare the effects on your dream world (you say 2.5 years straight)?

I think marijuana has some great potential benefits for dreaming and beyond, but I don't want to advise for or against it, find out on your own whether it works for you or not. I just want to say one thing to you: Be careful when you make a connection between succes in something (in this case dreaming) and your intake of substances.
It doesn't matter whether this is a dream or not.
      It's a beautiful gift anyways!

I think it would also depend whether or not you are smoking a sativa, indica, or hybrid strain. Id imagine you are using an indica dominant strain?

Where I notice MJ's influence most is in a reduced willpower/focus. I go to bed and just pass out instead of holding a intent, I'm too baked to manage it. I think I need to smoke closer to sleep though, I was smoking like 4 hours before sleep in an attempt to not ruin my dreams.

I have been clean for around a month now, and surprisingly my dream recall hasn't improved markedly on it's own like I thought it would. It seems MJ doesn't have the impact I thought it did.

to each his own i guess, and yes Tbreaks for a few months are always nice. insomnia is fixed nicely too with use of it. I've noticed my dream recall improves profoundly when I travel anywhere and sleep in different places, i always have the most vivid/weird dreams on vacation

indica's are nice to fall asleep fast and have the full 5.5 hours of sleep before waking up. I feel sativas keep people up and cloud the mind too much.
