I am making another thread because it is so hard to find information on dosage and tools. I'll be sure to spell everything for you guys so you can actually use this stuff well.
First, the taste. It is said that there is no worst taste than Calea Z. tea. That is a MASSIVE understatement. I drink black coffee, don't mind blue cheese or cilantro, and I can eat other things that most people hate. In other words, I am not a picky eater at all. This stuff just tastes like gagging.
With that out of the way, I'll get into Preparing Calea Zacatechichi Tea.
Allergy Test: every instruction I have found said to do this, so I will too. Put a leaf under your tongue for about 15 minutes, swallowing the juices that are formed. Chew it a bit after 15 minutes and spit it out. Wait about 15 to 30 minutes. If you notice no rashes forming and your lips don't feel itchy, you are in the clear. If that happens, take some benadryl and toss the Calea.
This tea was insanely easy, and the recipe I used made it simple.
Items you need:
- 3 Grams of dried calea
- 2 cups of cold water (16oz)
- One small pot
- Strainer
- Stirring tool
- Additives
The first step adding the calea to the pot. Make sure to measure it out. This is the lowest possible dose I have seen, so you want to be close for your first time, and so you don't waste all your product.
Second, add the water. Pour slowly.
Add heat to the pot. I have an electric stove like the instructions I used, and they said to set it to 2 or 3 on the dial. I did that. You want to keep the heat low to not boil fast but high enough to actually cook. Simmering is the goal here.
Leave it heat up for a few minutes. You want to see some vapor coming off and little bubbles appear on the bottom of the pot. I stirred it a bunch because I didn't want anything to burn.
Once you see the vapor, you can take it off the heat and strain it. I used an old t-shirt to just to make sure none of the plant matter got into the cup. My batch made about 16oz of tea since nothing really boiled off. Just a heads up for sizing your cup.
Let it sit for a while because you don't want to drink it hot. I recommend adding sugar and honey. I have heard that miracle berry works well, but I haven't tested that yet. Once it is cool, attempt to consume.
It is also recommended to smoke the calea while you drink. I hate smoking, but I tried that, and it helped a great deal. I set aside about a gram of the stuff, and packed two bowls to smoke while drinking the tea. You feel the effects fairly fast, honestly.
Results:
Day 1 - I got maybe 6 sips down before I had to quit. I wasn't ready for the awful taste, and I was very close to vomiting every time. It was also around 2 in the morning, so I figured I messed up anyway. I smoked two full bowls of the gram I set aside (having another bowl left over). I felt a nice head rush, I felt very tampered, and I felt tired.
I had two very vivid dreams last night, but I cannot tell you much about them. I had so little Calea that I don't think it'd matter.
Tonight, I am going to repeat everything I did with the added change of popping a miracle berry. I normally eat low carb so having that much sugar and honey won't be an option. If I cannot consume it, I am going to turn the rest of my batch into a resin and take pills.
