      5-HTP and Dreaming?

I have tried B-6 twice. Once I had around 60mg, and another time I had a full capsule that is 100mg.

Both times I have had no dreams or change in my recall or dream vividness. The first night I took it with 60mg I didn't take any b6 with it.

The second night I took the full capsule I took b6 (50mg) as a WBTB. I did dream, but it was a dream that felt oddly like the ones I get when I take b6. The pills, as it says on the bottle, are pure 100mg of 5-HTP so there is no b6 in the pill at all.

Is this why I'm not feeling it's effects? Should I be taking a b6 supplement in the morning & then the 5-HTP at night?

5-HTP is largely used for lucid dreaming as a REM-suppressor taken at bedtime, to be followed after 4-5 hours of sleep with a stack of dream-enhancing supplements like a mixture of galantamine and various cholines. The bible on supplement use for lucid dreaming is Yuschak's "Advanced Lucid Dreaming: The Power of Supplements." In the book he goes in to the detailed science behind the supplements and discusses in detail the timing and combinations and dosages of various substances. It's pretty much a must-read if you're interesting in taking supplements to boost lucid dreaming.

How much would it increase the change on lucid dreaming?
Or makes it dreams more vivid, better recall?

      Ah ok! Thank you.

Whats your one single favourite pill or enhancer to take? I want to try and find Choline and Galantamine rather than buying it online but I don't know how possible that is.
I like B-6 but my dreams aren't long nor that overly vivid. Good dreams yes - but I want the best ones I can get. I've tried 5-HTP and I bought this tea with the following ingredients:
Chamomile Flower (590mg), Spearmint Leaf (448mg), Liquorice Root (440mg), Lemongrass (200mg), Skullcap Herb Top (104mg), Lavender Flower (100mg), Peppermint (80mg), Valerian Root (26mg), and lastly, passionflower (12mg).

It worked okay last night. I wish I could really find something to top it all off. I did buy dream herb, but after a few friends had a few sips they decided they'd be more comfortable if I didn't try it especially as it's a hallucinogen and the fact that i'm Diabetic. So I pushed that off to the side.

Again, the Yuschak book has lots of detail on this subject. In short, the theory is that 5-HTP suppresses REM in the early cycles of the night, causing REM rebound in the later cycles, so that REM cycles are longer and closer together, so that your dreams can be longer.

I'll end up trying 5-HTP one last time. I'll take it at 12:00am and then wake up at 3:30 am (is that a good enough time difference to allow the 5-HTP to hit my brain?) and I'll take 100mg of b6 when i'm up.

      I took 50mg last time (of b6) and generally when I'm taking b6 alone I take 100mg anyways..so.

either that or i'll try my tea tonight. I might hold off on this new tea I bought and see how the b6 + 5htp works at 100mg ea.

      I have been taking 200mg 5HTP at like 7PM then 10:30 onwards like 10Mg Melatonin(5fast acting 5slow release) with 10mg B6 every 90 minutes + 6mg or so of Menthol
result Fri/Saturday lots of clear dreams with 2 lucids (at the end and short)
Dream goals accomplished, Whistled in a Dream, Played the Hand in a dream (use hand as a musical instrument like a whistle)
Sat/Sunday lots of clear dreams no lucids
Killed a crap load of DCs tho, don't try to run over me in your bullet proof high end car...

For tonight I'll go ahead and test the clarity effect of 5HTP
I'm gonna eat 500mg (+25mg DHEA) then on the first 3 awakenings I'll take 10mg fast melatonin 10mg slow melatonin and 10 or 20mg of B6 as well as additional 25mg DHEA + 12ish mg of Menthol.

      5HTP for clarity
      DHEA for bizzarness
      Melatonin for Trigger
      B6 for recall
Menthol seems to help so why not eat a bunch of it too I have had 5 lucids since adding this stuff last weekend

500mg seems like an uber-backfire, after only like 1.5 hours or less, I wake up form a 6.5 mintues dream run (should have been in REM suppression and deep sleep for 2x as long), at one point I did one of my dream power like moves sliding down a trunk embedded in the side of a hill, and thought see that is realistic It's not just in dreams I can do that. (DOH!) oh well back to sleep
adding extra menthol but to early for the other supplements

awoke from cycle 2 with lame dream
      stayed awake cycle 3
slept short time awoke from cycle 4 with lame dream
      stayed awake cycle 5+
short cycle 6 but good clear dream

I think to much serotonin made me wake up between cycle 1 and 2 and gave me partial insomnia
Tho I dosed with melatonin 20mg for every cycle from 3 on (that might have helped increase insomnia)

Tonight I'll try 300mg of Serotonin, see if I am out for 3hrs or 4 or 4.5

Well, there is no denying the efficacy of a galantamine +choline(s) stack, ala Yuschak, if you can get back to sleep. I find my dreams are affected for the 2nd day as well after taking galantamine+choline.

The single other thing, other than just melatonin at bedtime to suppress REM and hopefully promote REM rebound (either on its own or with the G+Ch stack [taken after 4-5 hours of sleep]), is wormwood. I get really wild / different kinds of dreams on wormwood, and have experienced body floating sensations.

You might try a super multi-vitamin pill like Opti-Men, I've found it gives me a boost to recall, but be careful about taking it too close to bedtime or you may not sleep as it has B vitamins in it (5,6,12 I think).

I think though that things like vitamins & foods is that they bring out your natural abilities. As long as you're not deficient in anything, they won't really affect you. If you are defcient in something you can notice the difference.

Nothing promotes great recall and lucidity like regular day and night LD practice. If you reach for recall every single time you find yourself awake, your recall with really grow.
