      Calea Z tips anyone..?

      Howzit,

So I've just ordered 2 ounces of Calea Z and I just wanted to put the feelers out and see if anyone has any preferred method of ingestion..!?
Obviously I've read numerous articles, but I want to hear from any forum members who have tried..!

I'm looking for info' on the usual, like
      Dosage.
      Method.
      Timing.
      Induction technique.
      Frequency etc', etc'.

Thanks in advance and I will surely post my results..!

      Cheers, Nicho..!

Nice. I am sorry I can not answer your questions not having taken it before. But highly interested in the results, please post them.

      Will do..!

      Howzit,

No problem, I will be doing..!
Obviously I've done some research on the topic and it seems that like most substances, the results vary from person to person and technique used..! My first 'journey' will be taking before bed, not sure how yet and then, regardless of results, I'll be trying the WBTB routine..! So hopefully I'll have plenty to report..!
I was hoping for a little more forum interaction, but it seems like an extremely quiet forum to be honest..! Either that or people here don't like noobs or maybe I'm just boring..! (Just messing..! (I know I'm boring..!)) So thanks for taking the time to reply..!
      Watch this space..!

      Cheers, Nicho..!

Okay, here's my bit about Calea:

      1. It is by far the most bitter substance I have ever encountered. The taste is disgusting beyond all logic and reason.

      2. Ingested raw, it seems not to work all that well.

      3. Taken as a herbal tea it works very well (but use only rather little water, since the taste is so awful).

      4. Taken as a tincture it also works well (and this way there is very little to ingest).

      5. It increases REM time by sucking away non-REM time. This has two consequences: 1) many more dreams, and 2) sleep is not very restful, and more sleep will be needed in the morning than normally.

      6. Dreams tend to flow into one another, forming long continuous streams of dreaming.

      7. Headaches on the morning after happens from time to time.

      8. Dosage (in herbal tea): half a teaspoonful goes a long way, but the effect increases with dosage. Use a lo-o-o-o-ong steeping time in order to get the most from the herb (half an hour, or even longer).

      9. Timing: best at WBTB-time, because that will leave the early sleep in the night undisturbed.

So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

Very practical and informative thank you for the information.

I'm not sure what the active ingredient in CZ is. If it is related to wormwood or mugwort, then it will need to be dissolved as a tincture (in alcohol) or burned (smoked or otherwise inhaled). I have read accounts of people smoking it in Erowid so that could also be a possible source of info. Info that I have read seems really spotty, though. Especially with oneirogens, the placebo effect is already so strong that it is difficult to say what works and what doesn't.

I was smoking it. Very small joints. 3/day. 14 and 18 hour , and one before sleep. After 2 days the dreams begin to be very vivid and colourfull, and strange/bizarre/mystical. I done it two times. The second time, I was smoking+drinking tea. That night I had a very vivid lucid dream. Yes, it has a bad taste, but you pour it down the throat, and wash your mounth with some aromatic drink. It is fun to try out Calea, but somehow I am not so interested anymore in the lucid-aids. Now I have here more then 6 gramms, waiting for consumation, but I think, after one year it is oxydated.

i have never had much luck with calea zacatechichi. i bought a dry extract once and smoked it before bed a few times and on another occasion i bought a tincture of it. i dont think i had noticeable dream potentiation from either one. i may have just bought inferior products.

the only 3 things i have taken that have drastically increased the vividness of my dream and triggered lucidity are

      galantamine,
      coleus blumei leaves
      and a product called 'oneiromancer'.

the first time i took galantamine i entered into a WILD almost instantly when i layed down to go to sleep. this did not happen every time i took it, but it did increase the vividness of my dreams every time i took it, making my chances of attaining lucidity to drastically increase.

coleus blumei is a popular lawn plant sold at garden shops. when i was a teenager i heard rumors of it being a sort of legal high with effects similar to mushrooms. i started picking leaves off of my moms coleus plants to try to get this effect. i dried and smoked a few at first. nothing happened but that night i had very wild and vivid dreams. i didnt make a connection with the coleus at first. but a few days later i tried eating a large amount of fresh leaves and the same thing happened. i have used this plant several other times for this purpose. it is hardly ever mentioned online as a dream enhancer but it definitely works for me.

oneiromancer is a supplement sold for lucid dreams. it contains african dream seed, african dream root, melatonin, 5-htp and a few other things. it is extremely effective in my experience.
