      Lucid dreamer

So, I was looking around the internet for lucif dreaming aids, and found this cool-looking kickstarter for some lucid dreaming gear that would automatically help you attain lucidity, and is even doing experiments with shared dreaming by sending similar electronic signals as feedback between linked users over the internet. It looks pretty cool and useful. Even if you can consistently lucid dream, the idea of a legitimate shared dream is pretty awesome, in my opinion.

That certainly is a nice red button you have there.

It'd be a shame if someone were to...

How's a shared dream supposed to work? I can believe that two people sleeping in the same room might be able to communicate on a subliminal level, but anything else is just into the realms of fantasy in my opinion.

Well, it's supposed to work by reading your brainwaves when it detects REM, sending it to the Internet, and having similar waves be transmitted to the other person whom you wish to share a dream with. You both are supposed to agree on a day to dream on the day before, and it will only work if you are both having REM at the same time. Or, that's what I interpreted based on the data I saw.

Basically, it sends your brainwaves to each other through the Internet, if I read it correctly.
That certainly is a nice red button you have there.

      Where did you read that?

I'm pleased that you seem to think it might happen over the internet, but I very much doubt that will happen for at least 20 years, if that!
I don't find it too far fetched that we will have something like it eventually, but it's certainly not available now.

Just look up 'lucid dreamer connect,' and read the description on their website.

It may seem surprising at first, but technology is growing fast - faster than it ever has before. Of course, this is an experimental build that they are talking about, but if anything, it proves that the tech isn't as far off as most would like to believe. Of course, it might fail... But it might not. And if it doesn't, science learns and grows faster because of it. If it takes twenty years instead of two, more than anything, it'll be from a lack of interest from scientists' sponsors.
That certainly is a nice red button you have there.

Campaign canceled! Even after achieving funding. Reason given: test subjects after the initial group didn't get lucid. So they're going to continue work. A setback (or a "reality check" ) for tACS EILD. Perhaps proving it really is much ado about nothing, and we are right to question the very questionable, confusing "results" from the Voss study. I consider this a victor for those of us speaking up in the comments requesting data and calling Voss to task.

Wow! I'm very suprised. The team did back-pedal a little bit when they said about adding LED light notifications after, when previous to that at the start of the campaign they basically made out lights were inefficient at inducing lucid dreams.

Something seem to niggle the creators not to far into the campaign regarding the results like you said.
To be fair, they have got a bit of publicity, plus their honesty in putting their hands up seems to be winning backers over.
So it looks like there is more work/research needed, rather than just the one Tacs study which is over-cited, before anything positive comes out of this.

Tacs is not the so-called "breakthrough" in lucid dreaming that I have seen banded about of late.
