      Coconut Oil and/or MCT Oil

Has anybody else here tried pressed coconut oil and/or medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil before and had it greatly affect the vividness or strangeness of your dreams, or your level of lucidity in them?

I remembered my dad telling me once after buying some coconut oil to take after hearing about its purported health benefits that he suddenly began remembering his dreams again which he hadn't done in ages, and they were incredibly vivid. This was some time ago. Fast forward to the present, I see my friend has MCT oil and I remembered from researching coconut oil briefly after my dad started taking it that the health benefits from coconut oil came from the MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) present in it, so I asked him if it ever gave him crazy or vivid dreams, to which he responds "Oh yeah, just ask Sam (his wife) about my MCT dreams haha".

After that, I was determined to give it a try myself after finding my dad's half-full coconut oil jar still around in their house. My results have been absolutely beyond any expectations I had for it, almost mind-blowing even.

Not only are my dreams much more vivid, but rather be an unconscious actor in my dreams with a constant sort of mind fog, I find that I am actually very engaged in thinking and decision making while the dream is taking place. On top of that, I'm often almost entirely lucid/aware that I am dreaming from the get-go as often as not!

In my experience, this has been more effective at promoting lucidity and awareness within my dreams than my few experiments with galantamine, and without the stimulation that can often prevent getting back to sleep from taking it at times. Rather than kind of "forcefully" inducing lucidity like galantamine via its' direct stimulation as a result of its cholinergic activity, the lucidity from coconut and MCT oil feels much more relaxed and natural... or organic, if that makes sense. Like I said, rather than feeling like it's a way of inducing lucidity, it is more like a way of highly promoting it by making you much more aware and consciously engaged in your dreams. It's really quite fascinating and I'm quite impressed with it so far.

Ooh, that sounds interesting! I have never heard of Coconut Oil for dreaming before, and MCT oil is new to me also.

      Thank you for sharing this!

      I Googled "mtc health benifits"
because I didn't know what was.

Here is the 2nd of 7 benifits
Maybe this is why it helps dreaming

7 Science-Based Benefits of MCT Oil
      H
      2. Instant Source of Energy That Can Also Be Used to Fuel Your Brain

MCT oil has been dubbed a super fuel since your body absorbs MCTs more rapidly than long-chain triglycerides (LCTs), which contain more carbons in their fatty acid chains (7).

Due to their shorter chain length, MCTs travel straight from the gut to the liver and do not require bile to break down like longer-chain fats do (12).

In the liver, the fats are broken down to be either used as fuel or stored as body fat.

Since MCTs easily enter your cells without being broken down, they can be used as an immediate source of energy (13).

When you’re on a*ketogenic diet, MCTs can also be converted into ketones in the liver.

These ketones can pass through your blood-brain barrier, making them a convenient source of energy for your brain cells.

SUMMARYMCT oil is easily absorbed and transported throughout the body. It can be used as an instant source of energy or can be converted into ketones to fuel your brain.

Iīm going to try this. Of course, now the question is which is the best MCT oil to get? There is one that looks pretty good on Amazon by Ketosource: Pure C8 MCT Oil. (Looks like itīs recently sold in USA, but in UK it has 4.6 stars with 2,055 reviews.)

Well, I've read up on the differences between most MCT oil supplements and pressed virgin coconut oil, and the main difference is in the proportional amounts of the main 3 MCTs present in them. C8 is only one specific MCT, so I would imagine some combination of coconut oil and MCT oil that contains all 3 (don't have time to look them all up right now, I think it's C6, C8, and C12) would probably make for the best results.

Just a couple of practical questions, if you do not mind: 1) how much do you eat before going off to dreamland, and 2) when (relative to bedtime) do you eat this oil?

This is all new to me, but a quick search seems to yield the following: There are four different types of medium chain triglycerides in MCT oil, each one varying by its carbon length, Caproic Acid (6 carbons), Caprylic Acid (8 carbons), Capric Acid (10 carbons), Lauric Acid (12 carbons). The shorter the carbon chain, the less work it takes your body to process and utilize the energy. So 10 and 12 are not efficient and 6 tastes and smells like crap and can cause bloating, cramping, and diarrhea. So thatīs why several companies, (including popular Bulletproof coffee) make C8 MCT oil.

Ok, got my MCT oil and tried it. Recommended dosage is 1 teaspoon for 5 days and then increase by half a teaspoon. Typical use is 1 tablespoon up to 3 times a day. So I did a WBTB and took 1 tablespoon mixed w a small cup of coffee. Did not get lucid, but had vivid, action packed dreams. Good recall. Dreams were about people fighting, cops, shootings. Sometimes I was just an observer, like if watching the news, but being there live....bizarre perspectives. Definitely worth it. I could really tell when it kicked in, felt like some kind of vibration was massaging my brain.

Took MCT oil again, 2 tablespoons at WBTB. No lucids, but very long, detailed, vivid, interesting dreams. Definitely worth it, ...itīs super good for your health!
