Light-aided MILD: any results/advice from users here?

So, I have this multi-colored lamp that flashes different colors. Looking at the ceiling as the lamp lights it up behind closed eyelids and imagining circling my eyes has given me vivid dreams. Not good dreams, more like a mess that has elements of a nightmare but is mainly just weird.

I guess this is MILD because I tell myself I'll notice I am dreaming. I am almost on the cusp of it, but I'm curious if anyone here has extra advice.

Also, I would like to hear out anyone who's done the same thing.

Do you think this might be a similar effect?

I don't see the complex patterns reported on the Wikipedia article, but yeah, I'm guessing it's similar.
