Not sure where to post this...

A dream I had last night gave me this idea: I dreamt I was a soldier advancing on an enemy position with a buddy, he covers me while I run ahead, then I cover him while he runs ahead, helping each other out to reach our goal.

That reminded me of a poker forum where every month, if you want, you can be randomly teamed up with someone else and each person gives the other their last 500 hands from saved hand histories from games played online. Then you have a week or so to go through each hand, commenting on whether you think it was played well and what you would've done, so giving an objective point of view and hopefully improving each other's game. Obviously the 'buddies' keep everything they read confidential.

Then I thought, would it work with lucid dreaming? Each person could go through the other's dream journal looking for dreamsigns, suggesting ways to work with them, anything they want etc. It's easy to do with online journals, but could also be done with offline typed up ones if people wanted, and kept confidential as above.

What do people think? It's just an idea so feel free to shoot it down.

What a shame no one has replied to this yet.
I like the idea. Sometimes the insight and perspective of a 3d person is JUST what you need to get a problem solved, simply because they think differently. Each individual thinks different and sometimes that can really help you see things in a way you never before saw things.

Basically that's the whole Idea behind this Lucid Dreamers-forum: To communicate and exchange ideas and insights on Dreaming and Lucid Dreaming: Just see how many great ILD-techniques, Relaxation techniques and Trance techniques arose on this forum from ''putting our Minds together'' on these Boards. 1 on 1 this technique might even work beter. Especially when it's with a Lucid Dreamer you personally like and have some sort of bond with.

Perhaps this Forum could set up such a Program in a seperate Board or Subforum? Like the Adoption Program, but then for Non-advanced Lucid Dreamers to help eachother out with insights and ideas 1 on 1.

      Good thinking!

Hahaa, I guess it's not a very popular idea - I'm just way ahead of my time, or maybe I posted it in the wrong forum...

Anyway, it only needs at least two people to do it, so we could try it out SKA.

It sounds like a great idea, but I won't have the time to participate in it sadly...

We have a Dream Interpretations Section.

We have a Lucid Experience Section.

Make use of them. Who is stopping you?

Oh, and 'covering fire' can be dangerous on the battlefield. It tells the Enemy that somebody is out in the open. Ordinarily 'covering fire' is blind shooting meant to intimidate new and inexperienced enemy soldiers into keeping their heads down. But experienced soldiers who have good reason to believe that their position is secure, when they hear 'covering fire' will take a quick look 'over the top' and see if there is anybody runing in the open making a good target of himself.

So, modern tactics do not emphasize so much covering fire unless all of the enemy can be accounted for -- everyone behind the same one log or in the same foxhole. Now, the idea is to try to move from cover to cover in quick moves -- one should be able to count 1 -2 -3 and arrive at new cover -- that is before an enemy can aim and fire. Simply try it. Pretend to yourself that you see a soldier come out from cover and begins to run and .. 1-2-3... just as you are ready to pull the trigger, your target has dropped out of sight. Of course, THEN the enemy is aware of your new position, and will aim at a good lead point, and try to guess where and when you will pop out next. It is terribly difficult for Infantry Troops to remain alive when fighting against other Infantry Troops. Generally the only consistent survivors are those who take cover and never come out.. who never expose themselves to fire. Moving about is a great risk. Even aiming -- sticking one's head out of cover is a huge risk. This is why Veterans -- those who have survived Combat are often so insistent that they ARE NOT the Heroes. They are being completely honest. The AREN'T!

If you still want to try this out then:
      1. PM me or reply here.
      2. I'll randomly pair people up and post pairs here.
      3. Then get in contact with your buddy and decide what you each want to do. I suggest reading each other's journals or a few dreams first and then do whatever you want: help each other find dreamsigns, interpret each other's dreams, share techniques, help each other get lucid!
      4. We could add any comments into Word documents of the dreams. Send them back to each other within maybe a two week period or as soon as you want. Then discuss anything you want.

      What do you think?

Jess I think that's a pretty cool idea. I like taking a look at how other's dream. You can really find out a lot about that individual as well, however I probably wouldn't be able to participate. I would really like to, if you decide to do it I may be able to set some time aside to try and participate.

Yeah I guess this would work best if we Exchange MSN-messenger adresses? we could chat about Lucid Business. It would make communicating and experimenting a whole lot easier.

IF anyone's interrested in using MSNmessenger to discuss Lucidity and do Dreaming experiments with another Lucid Dreamer, here's my MSN adress:

Thinking about it, I don't think I'll have enough time for this either. I wouldn't want to do it half-heartedly. SKA, why don't you take over and organise it, if anyone is still interested.

It sounds like a great idea, and I'd participate. Well, once I really start getting lucids I'd participate. But it sounds like a good idea anyway.
