Hey all - what im planning to do is to write a report on changes that 5-HTP makes on my dreams, lucidy and recall. Im going to be taking 100mg before i go to bed every night.
Currently my dream recall is ok but id like to improve it. I have quite a few dreams but dont always manage to write them all down as soon as I wake up.
5-HTP is probably not the best thing to take for dreams inducement but im taking it for something else. It may help as it effects serotonin, which contributes to the control of sleep in the brain.
Today is the first night. I will update this thread with more information later as things progress.
Week 1
---------
So far no better dream recall but im definitely getting better sleep and feeling alot better. If you are having sleeping problems you should really try this.
Week 2
---------
I seem to have move vivid dreams but doesnt help my dream recall much at all. Daydreaming seems to come easier - but im unsure if this is related. So far results seem to show the 5htp is mainly for getting better sleep, and doesnt affect dreams very much.

I'll be curious to see how your experience develops. I used to take 5-HTP as a mood uplifter basically - being that, like you said, it's supposed to increase serotonin in the brain. I wasn't aware people used it as a means of increasing dream recall / working with their dreams.

Its not traditionally used for helping with dreams but Im just documenting an experiement so that anyone that searches these forums will find the information I have gathered.
