Supplement Experiments
Shouldn't there be one single place where everyone can post their supplement experiments, hopefully inspiring others to do the same? We can't let Thomas Yuschak do all the work (or have all the fun!) I'd personally like to experiment every night, but I don't want to "fry my circuits." What's needed are more experimenters. So, assuming such a place doesn't already exist, may I suggest posting your experiments here? Maybe after a year's worth of data collection, we'd have discovered many new and reliable combinations. I'll start the ball rolling myself with this morning's experiment...
Date: 2nd March 2008
Supplements: 130mg DMAE, 300mg N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine, 175mg EGCG
Time taken: After 5 hours sleep
Results: I was still awake an hour or so after taking the supplements when I suddenly starting seeing the most amazing visuals. First, it seemed as if I were flying over an ocean. The scene then turned more arctic, with icebergs and ice caves. I had no control over what I was seeing and remained fully aware of my body laying in bed. It was just like watching a TV screen behind my eyes. I eventually fell asleep and had a number of vivid, non-lucid dreams.
Comments: Even though this combo didn't induce lucidity, the experience was completely new for me and very interesting. I have briefly experienced static visuals before whilst falling asleep (like photographs), but nothing like this.

Sounds interesting. What I would also like, is if you listed where you can get certain supplements. I'm always interested in taking new stuff in order to aid my lucidity, and maybe I can pass off stuff as "trying to get healthy" so my parents will buy the stuff.
I have not taken any supplements yet, so I can't tell you of past experiences. But I do think this is an excellent idea.

Supplements: 1600mg Valerian (as a 400mg extract)
Time taken: At bedtime
Comments: I realise that Valerian is a well known sleep aid (and therefore this can hardly be deemed an "experiment" in anything other than a personal sense). However, I was intending to combine it with GABA and DMAE after a few hours of sleep. Unfortunately, despite having had a couple of opportunities during the night, I was simply too ZONKED to be bothered (not something that has ever happened before). Sorry about that
Results: As I've just eluded to, the Valerian made me sleep more deeply than usual. It also made me dream more vividly. At one point I looked out the window and was shocked to see that the ocean had risen and was now lapping just a few meters from my house. "This can't be real," I thought to myself. But instead of performing a standard RC, I simply did an intense visual inspection - which I deemed stable enough to constitute waking reality... and promptly started wondering how the sea could have risen so quickly.
