Tektite Lucid Aid?
So I asked my anthropology professor if he had heard of lucid dreaming, and he started telling me about tektite. I became somewhat skeptical after he explained that it increases dream clarity and recall while you sleep with some under your pillow, and even more so when he told me where I could find some: he sells it. He offered me some 'cheap' but I explained that I didn't have the income, so he offered me some for free. I thanked him, but didn't take him up on it, and now I'd like some more perspective on this substance from fellow lucid dreamers, on the chance that it would be worth purchasing. Thanks in advance.

Man your anthropology professor sounds sketchy...either kooky or slimy trying to take advantage of his status to sell what amounts to a folk remedy.
I've never heard of it, but then I am no anthropologist so if I were you I'd do some research on the Internet and see if you can come up with anything.

Tektite is pretty much glass, as far as I know. He's selling a placebo.

"But I don't have the money professor"
"ok...here's a small sample, when you are hooked on it, come and see me for more"
"and I want something for my diet professor"
"yes, put this Tectite under your tongue and you will lose weight....$50"

Tektite is just a natural glass object that was form from large meteorites that hit the earth. It sounds more like a good luck charm in a way. Something that would gets your confidents up or something like that.

I was amused and intrigued by this topic and the responses. Amused because a few years ago I was as much of a skeptic as anyone else here, however my mind was changed a few years ago as to the validity and effectiveness of certain crystals, rocks and minerals.
Everything emits vibration, so do rocks. Case in point, the use of quartz in electronics is proven. On that basis alone, glass - being made up of quartz primarily has vibration.
Whether tektite enhances lucid dreaming, I've never tried it but intend to. No harm done by putting a piece under your pillow.

The polite thing to do would have been to accept his free offer :) Couldnt hurt to try it!
I dont see how it has any real effect though.
