Using you Cell phone as a dream sign

I came across this technique in Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LeBerge, im sure many of you are familiar with it.

A team of psychologists went into Stanford's sleep lab trying to find something that would act as a cue from the outside world to people in their rem periods. (This is the same series of studies that produced the Nova Dreamer). As it turned out, hearing was a poor sense to use for sending images to people in their dreams. Light was the number one method that produced results, however, touch also worked as well.

What you can do is set your cell phone alarm for the different times of rem sleep, like six hours into sleep or seven and a half and so on. Then put your cell phone on vibrate. The goal is your will feel the sensation in a dream, thus telling you you are dreaming!

I have not tried this yet but i am going to spend some time on it and invite everyone to go ahead as well and post your progress and i will post mine.

      Procedure:

Training yourself to recognize the cue

First your going to want to condition yourself to recognize the sensation as a dream sign. First you need to designate a place that you will put your cell phone when you are sleeping, attach to your leg using tape or a strap or whatever you want (get creative!) Set your alarm for different periods during the day. When it goes off, survey your surroundings, look for anything unusual. Perform some reality checks. Imagine yourself in a dream and feeling that sensation, think of how it may appear to you, the signal could take many forms. The feeling could be a vibration like that you felt like when you were awake, or it could be an animal brushing against your leg, you must be ready to recognize this as a dream sign! Picture yourself becoming lucid and doing what you would want to do when you actually will become lucid! Do this several times throughout the day and get used to associating that feeling as a dream sign!

      LUCIDITY!

Its pretty straight forward, wear the cellphone somewhere where you are sure you will feel it, and set it for your different rem periods, and with any luck, your will recognize the feeling and be lucid!

      Things to Consider:
If you are a light sleeper, this method may wake you up rather then cue you into a lucid dream

Your hands have the most sensory nerves on your body (excluding tongue) and therefore may be a good place to have the cell phone.

Some cell phones have more powerful vibrators than others, which you may want to take into consideration (mine is like a jack hammer)

POST RESULTS, this has been done in studies and has worked, so lets try it out, and share any ideas and or experiences!
      Lucid Goals:

This has been suggested and tested on DV before. I don't remember how well it worked out, but you might want to hit up the search function and check those threads out.

I use one for WBTB and put it in my foot arch under my sock.
Never thought to distance it a little (like under my pillow) to use as a trigger and not a waking device.
