Fiddler's Green Experimentation Log
I thought it might be a good idea to put together a log where I detail my use of supplements and experiences. The supplements in the beginning that I will be using can be found in the Advanced Lucid Dreams book which many of you are familiar with. I plan to experiment with all of the supplements laid out in the book, except for L-Dopa, which seems to be the most dangerous from my perspective.
I have only been able to achieve lucidity through the use of WILD techniques and I have never used supplements for the purpose of dream manipulation before.
First Log:
The substances I used were 4mg of nicotine gum, a b-complex vitamin (which included 50 mg of choline, 110 mg b6, and various other b vitamins), and 1,500mg of L-Tryptophan.
I began the night by taking 1,500mg of L-Tryptophan for the purposes of causing REM-rebound. In the future I will be taking 5-HTP instead of the tryptophan (I'm just waiting for it to come in the mail).
I woke up after six hours of sleep and took the b-complex and began chewing the nicotine gum. I chose the gum since it absorbs faster than the patch.
I used the LudicdRemix track and my normal meditation afterwards. After falling asleep an hour after waking I did not have an LD, but I did have an extremely vivid journey/quest style dream. My dream recall was better than usual as well.
I think I failed to attain lucidity due to how groggy the L-Tryptophan made me feel, which made concentration more difficult.
Most of my logs will be done on the weekends, since that is when I can spend the most time sleeping. Please feel free to comment and leave any suggestions for supplements you would like to see me test out.

My theory on three phrases of sleep paralysis

I just had a WILD early this morning with the use of supplements which I will describe momentarily and I did not experience sleep paralysis. In fact if the dreamer focuses more on the mental exercises and doesn't attempt to move, they should never notice sleep paralysis, accept maybe when they wake up, but this is rare.
Focusing on trying to achieve sleep paralysis can cause a dreamer to loss concentration and have a failed attempt.

I have experienced different occasions of sleep paralysis and a good explanation that I could get are from my research of Astral Projection (AP) and Out-of-body-experience (OOBE). What happens is that before you go into REM sleep and have dreams. Your Astral body have to seperate from your physical body and float up about 2-3 inches...it could be more depends on other stuff...but anyway, sleep paralysis can occur during the beginning, the middle, or the end of this phrase of seperation. What happens is that your mind become awake while your Astral body is going through this seperation so that you can't move your physical body...thus you have sleep paralysis. And your mind became awake can be from just accident or it could be trying to practice to induce a lucid dream. Anyway, if you happen to be awaken during the beginning phrase of the seperation then you will experience many loud noises couple with vibration and even feel yourself going through some sort of tunnel like area. I believe the people who experience this call it OOBE. If you happen be awake after the seperation then you will be either in a dream or at the beginning of a dream. Thus you will see hypnagogis (spell?) images or already be in a dream and became lucid. That's us here :-)...we called it Lucid dream. Last but not least if you happen to be awaken near the end when you Astral body is about to return to your physical body...but not quite...then you will also have sleep paralysis. But you won't have any tunnel or vibration experience. So people was able to get lucid from this phrase and I believe that they call it Astral Projection because they were able to move their Astral body AFTER it has return to their physical body. They just get up again and go. And of course they don't have any tunnel or dramatic vibration experience so they just call it Astral Projection.
For me I was able to prove this theory because I became awake during these different phrases of seperation and was able to look back at my physical body after my Astral body seperated.
I'm sorry I don't have time to edit my writting but just wanted to get the infomation. Feels free to ask any questions or clarification.
